Only 16hp more than the E92 and 300lbs less?? I'm impressed with the weight loss (albeit never should have gotten to the point of 3900lb in the first place ), but not so much with the power output; am I the only one who feels this way?

How much does the E36 weigh?

I don't think you are comparing apples to apples on that weight comparison. The weight listed is likely empty weight and would compare as follows:

E46 M3 at 1,474 kg = 3,250 lbs
F82 M4 at 1,500 kg = 3,306 lbs
E92 M3 at 1,605 kg = 3,538 lbs

As noted in our specs list, they did not specify whether this is curb weight.

I knew they were going to throw a weight figure out there, with no details.

Smart marketing though, now everyone will say it weighs 3,300 lbs from here on out.

I bet the US version will not weight that.

Where are all the people who swore it would never get down to anywhere near 3,300? Time for your public shaming.

Love all the CFRP panels and contoured roofline, truly sexy.

But am I the only one on this board not sold on looks?

Their marketing goal is to get a weight figure out there that will catch peoples attention.

People don't care how it was calculated or what packages/options are involved.

At any rate this is an impressive weight, wet or dry not withstanding.

Add fluids and a driver and even if it's around 3,500lbs, that's impressive given the running gear it's packing.

Curb weight is just the car and no passengers or luggage right?

BMW: get it down to the curb weight of the E46 M3 CSL and that'll be something more to talk about.

No fluids (typically around 100lbs) and no driver.
