Just in case anyone is trying to figure out all of the part numbers for the required hardware when installing the M Performance Height Adjustable Springs kit:

07-11-9-905-418 HEX BOLT WITH W x2
33-32-6-768-884 HEXAGON NUT WIT x4
34-33-9-806-226 NUT, SELF-LOCKI x2
33-32-6-760-668 SELF-LOCKING CO x2
33-50-2-414-216 RETROFIT KIT SP x1
07-11-9-905-610 HEX BOLT WITH W x2
31-30-7-854-446 GASKET FRONT x2
33-50-6-866-038 GASKET REAR x2
31-30-7-855-400 HEXAGON SCREW W x10
33-52-7-850-600 12-POINT NUT x2

Are these parts absolutely necessary? Are all these bolts only one time use or is it to be extra cautious?

Honestly, it isn't necessary, but if you're taking it apart anyway, you may as well. I'd at least do the gaskets. The parts are cheap enough.

Thanks this is useful. I wonder why the rear gaskets for the shocks are not listed in their hardware kit, if anything, this is probably the most essential gasket that needs to be replaced.

The front shock gasket is listed but if you do the "tommy l" method and only remove the strut bolt (leaving the top hat on the car), you definitely dont need to replace the gasket.

I'm installing camber plates, so I'll be ordering the front gaskets. If you're not replacing the top bearings, they wouldn't be necessary.

It's a german thing - I had the parts kit on hand and used everything, but on any other car I would have reused all the hardware without issue.

And buy from getbmwparts.com and you just have to check the box for the parts kit

Yeah, exactly. I was referring to the rear gaskets, if one is replacing the shock/bumpstop. Looks like you've edited the OP to include rear gaskets. Thanks for consolidating.

I've barely put 5,000 miles on my car. I'm probably not going to order the larger bolts. I can't imagine they've seen much, if any, wear.

Also keep in mind, if you want to adjust the rear height, your control arm bolts will MOST likely have to come out (assuming you're using the spanners). Otherwise there isnt enough room. So, if these are truly single torque...

Wow, that's a shining example of why mechanics despise engineers.

I'll be corner balancing the car as low as it'll go without rubbing. Once that's set, I shouldn't have to mess with it.

FWIW, a plier-type oil filter wrench makes adjusting the rears much easier. It can chew up the finish a bit on the ring, though, so be careful.

Brilliant! I have one of these and it is almost useless for oil filters. Happy to have an application for it. Thank you!

Even with a filter wrench, it's very hard to get enough stroke to turn the collar because things are in the way. And if the spring seat isn't affixed to the car in some way (I used 3M tape) it will just spin with the collar. It's not a very good design.

alright I stand corrected on adjusting the rears. it's tight on space, but if you jack up car, remove wheel, you can grab the helper spring with your hands and spin that (which will also spin the collar) until you have moved it enough to grab with the spanner. repeat this procedure (spin helper, grab with spanner) and you can prob get a quarter turn of the collar at a time.

not ideal, but at least the control arm didn't have to come off.
