Thinking of replacing the IAT sensor.

Maybe it got damaged when my OEM intercooler was leaking?

When I removed it the sensor had noticeable white marks of dried coolant

Maybe try cleaning the IAT sensor with MAF Sensor Cleaner first before replacing.

Good stuff, will try that today as I got a can lying around that I never used.

Thanks

Our coolant temps are similar so I don’t believe the coolant is the culprit.

Even if your ambient temps were lower the fact it only rose 2 deg compared to mine is nuts. It’s hard to believe that AP could have made something failing this bad, but then again they are discontinued...
Here's another log to add to your data points / info re: your issues -
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=60da...729b2ae55843df

Made a 4th gear pull into 5th, ambient temp 76F - IAT went up only 4* (baseline 94F up to 98F). This was also done at the end of multiple pulls with variety of launch control, rolling anti-lag, and using various auto vs manual setting on the DCT.

Yeah something is definitely up. I may need to order an OEM unit and ditch this junk as right now its the only culprit I can directly link.

Update to come tomorrow as when I clean the IAT.

I am still convinced it is the sensor because the AP cooler is literally as cold as a beer that you put in the fridge for an hour lol.

However, I purchased an OEM unit to do a back to back log and see if there is a difference. Ill report back soon. Happy Friday!

Hey Guys,

Sorry forgot to post up the log from this weekend!

I cleaned the IAT sensor as well as the two MAF's.

Ambient temps around 97, when I turned on the car IAT was at 102 (car was outdoors) so right away I knew the sensor was fine.

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=60f4...729b441411f004

Highway cruising IAT remains between 102-110 depending on speed.

Push log button, mash it, see IAT's hit close to 130.

Replacement OEM unit arrived yesterday so I will try and get it on hopefully this weekend as I will be out of town next week. Will post back to see if it did the trick!

Thanks all

That seems awfully high still. The OEM IATs usually stays at 20 degrees above ambient. With a csf front heat exchanger, this drops down to 13 degrees above ambient. This is with 80% distilled water btw so I would certainly run less antifreeze + add more water and redline water wetter esp in your climate.

Also the rapid increase at WOT compared to the other logs posted here gives me more reason to believe its the TMIC. I MAY be able to slap it on Saturday morning and take it for a spin to log, if I do ill post it up here.

I purchased a used unit for the sake of the experiment, hopefully it doesnt leak
