CTS Turbo FBO M4 Build : Reviews and Dyno's

So I partnered with CTS turbo to go FBO on my M4. *Full disclosure I did get a discount on the products because of the videos I have done in the past on my channel on their intakes. They did not tell me to say anything in particular about their products.*
I recorded a 5 part series on my channel that goes over the install of their Heat Exchanger, Intercooler, Chargepipes, J-Pipes, Downpipes and Dyno. The link to those videos are below if you are interested.

Here are my thoughts on each item

ChargePipes: They did not fit well at all. We had to use a lot of force to get them in place but we where able to do so. I do not currently have my engine cover on as the new pipes created rubbing on the hood so I need to modify the mounting points to get the cover to fit correctly.

Intercooler: The intercooler looks like good quality and there where no metal shavings in any of the ports. My shop owner thought the part look good and I am in the process of logging my temps to see if it really better than stock. Fitment was perfect.

J-Pipe: It came with its own built in clamp and looked very nice. The only issue was the powder coating was very thick around the breather line connection and we have to file it down to get the line to stay in place. Otherwise it was fine.

Heat Exchanger: The heat exchanger fit 95% perfectly. The unit is a lot bigger than the stock one and one of the plastic covers took a little elbow grease to get in. Everything else slid right into place and it stands out behind the grille.

Downpipes: Based on the feedback from my shop, they fit very well compared to some others. After installing these, my burbles are a lot more noticeable.

I also tuned my car to BM3 stage 2 and did some dyno runs to compare it my gains to stage 1.

To be honest I thought the power would have been more but the car feels great.
Stock I was 407 Hp and 440 Tq and now I am at 504 Hp and 543 Tq.
Not too bad really for bolt ons and OTS tune.
These numbers make me believe that the stock downpipes are pretty good since I did not make that much more power than stage 1.
I hope this info helps someone out in their decision making as I enjoyed the process so far.
Charts and links will be below or in the next post.

Also I know the peak numbers are not that different but if you look at the gains between 2.5K - 5K, the area under the curve is a lot larger. The car feels faster than 15 more horse....

Nope. I have my reasons why I have not done it yet.

My entire car is cts as well. If you don't mind slight fitment stuff their products are an incredible value. They were on my mk7 and just as good on the f8x. I just bought their intakes and made my own heat shields to turn into an mst style intake.

Hey what’s up man. Was curious on any follow ups on their parts? I’m on fence on buying some of their stuff. Unfortunately I believe my IC may be leaking and I refuse to buy another stock one just to have it possibly fail again 🙄.

CTS makes great parts, their top mount is currently on backorder (as of 07/23/21). Since yours is leaking, you might want to consider another brand

You are correct by skipping the stock top mount
