Bumping this.
I just tried to install mine today and had the same issue with the rear charge pipe where the bolt would not accept a socket. I tried several different ways and even tried a 8mm 12 pt wrench with no luck. Looks like the weld is too thick and or the pipe protrudes too much.

Watching their install video, there’s no mention of using a wrench etc so I’d imagine that this a manufacturing defect. I submitted a warranty claim which is frustrating for something that should have been a perfect fit.

Let’s see what Mishimoto says.

Use the open-ended side of the wrench for the final tightening, start it by hand with your fingers while you slide the pipe down and turn the bolt as much as you can by hand. 12pt or 6pt wrench doesn't matter since again you'll be using the open-ended side. This will be the same procedure for almost all aftermarket charge pipes that I've installed. Tip, remove the intake tube between the charge pipes to gain more access, it's just a 10mm holding it down.

I wasn’t aware that you can use the open side of a wrench to tighten an etorx... never tried though. I’ll give it another go.

Thanks for the tip. Learn something new today. Usually I’ve used closed end on etorx. Never thought about open end!

So yeah, got it redone and works like a charm. I used an 8mm ignition wrench which was small enough to get at the rear.

Front charge pipe was never an issue. I’ll also add that both of my chargepipes are matching finishes.

Thanks!!

At the 4:40 mark it clearly shows how to tighten the bolt.

* EDIT you did say u tried a wrench. Maybe need a thinner one like a snap on etc *

Does anyone know if the Wagner CPs fit perfectly like the Mishimoto?

Are you guys running the provided clamps and coupler? If you were to upgrade, what would you go with? Thinking I’m going to pick these up and go with polished silver

I’m using the supplied clamps and couplers.
Not sure I’d see a need to change them out

Personally, I would go with the OEM style Norma clamps over the typical generic hose clamps that most aftermarket vendors provide. The Norma clamps are specifically designed for this application (and why the BMW engineers chose to use them over basic hose clamps).

What did you do to strip these? Thinking about stripping them and doing a polished set. My pipes should come tomorrow
