Lesson of the day.
Computer knows all. In a few centuries, AIs will be around and we are all doomed. On a serious note, OP your probably screwed. Sorry bud. Don't money shift next time.

I don't know how long data is stored in the DME, but this could have happened prior to you owning it. Hopefully you can correlate the over-rev to the mileage and be vindicated. Unless you really did money shift. In that case, call your insurance and have them cover it.

Guys this smells like bullshit to me. This is a brand new poster with a brand new account here on the forum. There is no way a dealership or BMWNA would behave as he is suggesting. Further, there is a rev limiter, so unless he was going 80 mph and downshifted into 2nd gear....
If you simply rev without shifting you are going to bounce off the rev limiter. I say this story is a fake. |

Is it stored and correlated to mileage? In short, the scenario where dealer kid money shifts between miles 2 and 3, buyer comes in and buys it with 4 miles on the OD thinking he's getting a new car. Thus new buyer could prove it wasn't him.

Yes. I think he's been given long enough to respond further. So, show's over.
