Got one coming.
I run Mann Hummell units in my diesels - stops the intake filling up with oil from crankcase vapour condensing in the intake. But they are a bit agricultural. Hopefully the BMS unit will do similarly, without the agricultural appearance. |

Terry had said during development that if there was a case for an occ for the s55, they'd make it. And they found reason to, so Bms now sells one. Probably ask terry how much a tuned motor occ catches

Also how you drive has an affect. If you push the car then you will probably catch more oil if you just drive around town. Mike |

Unless the occ is directly related to a failure (can't think of many it would cause) it won't be voided.

Cant recall a single time where the OCC voided the warranty
As mentioned before, it all depends on how much boost the car is making and mostly on your driving habits

Your stock system reciruclates that oil vapor back into the engine for emissions purposes. The OCC separates that blow by oil vaper so you keep your system clean. Over time that oil vapor can build up and you can lose power. If that's not a concern, then it may not be worth it to you. Eventually that oil build it can potentially rob power but it's going to take a lot of mileage and you really won't notice your losing power since it will happen very slowly for 10's of thousands of miles. |

I thought it was odd to be honest, since this helps the engine, and even potentially saves BMW money if you need the valves/intake walnut blasted under warranty. |

If you needed any reason to install one. Stock car other than the catch can, catless midpipe, and red start/stop button (for 5 hp). No tune. Went in at around 3000 miles and emptying for the first time at 9700. There's about 2" of muck in there. Glad it's not in my engine.

This is what I found in mine when I cleaned it out
I think it's worth it There was some thick sludge on the bottom and the rest was a mix of water and oil |

As the cars get older and blow by increases due to normal wear you're going to see a lot more benefit too.

OCC is a must especially if you are doing a lot of short trips under 10 miles daily. Have a new 2018 M3 and my OCC pulls a lot of water into the catch can and a tad bit of oil. I do a lot of short drives. IMO OCC is a must. I have pics posted on a different thread
