M4 at 17

Hey all, thought I'd make an account on the forum since I got an m4 over thanksgiving break, it's a long story how I got to that car since I was deciding between that and some AMGs and even an i8.

It's been great so far other than taking time to learn to drive a DCT since there's no torque convertor which can make it jerky at low speeds, but the acceleration is intoxicating and I wouldn't choose anything else.

Welcome and congrats on your new M4! Indeed it is a beast when stepping on it.

At low speed, I would tap the gas (not press) to roll into speed smoothly.

I am happy for, but afraid for you and the your community, as well. I know my 17 year old brain got me into a lot of trouble, but I did not have a high HP car, but a 4 speed corolla and I still got in trouble with it. Be careful!

Definitely doesn't need MORE power , especially for you being as new as you are to not only the car , no offense to driving also.

sorry lmao I meant more power as in theres much more power that can be used and it feels like it can be pushed more than i'm doing right now

As everyone has said please don't add another used m4 with multiple accidents on the carfax report.

I'm looking for a used one now and I'd have better luck winning the powerball

2015/2016 f8x lack of traction especially on the earlier firmwares have a lot to do with those Carfax reports lol.

Also if you came out of an e9x, no way you'd expect how mustang-like these cars rear ends are if you don't know what you're doing

Congrats and be safe, I'm a relatively young guy with an M car too, got my M6 at 22, just turned 23. Don't cheap out on tires and servicing and she should treat you good. Don't spend a dollar on performance mods, trust me, it's got enough.

Beautiful, I was actually also considering an M6 over the M4 since I couldn’t afford a M8 yet

You made a good choice, the S55 is generally a much more reliable engine than the S63
