Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone with an update. We've been very busy with the SEMA show, and now trying to catch up with everything, etc...

Anyway, here is a current update on the development of this new charge-air-cooler.
  1. VF Engineering was scheduled to have this cooler on the dyno late last week / early this week. I haven't had a chance to touch base with them this week, but we should be getting together to discuss dyno results in the next week or so.

  2. VF Engineering is also trying to schedule a drag-strip session to test the performance in back-to-back run full throttle conditions.
    - They're attempting to run 2 cars with multiple test configurations (w and w/o charge air cooler, and/or with upgraded CSF "Game Over" heat exchanger) against a stock stage 1 tuned version.

  3. Yost Autosport has this cooler installed in their vehicle, and it was on display at our booth at SEMA. They got theirs custom powder coated to match their livery scheme.
    - They've also just tested the performance of the cooler with our race heat exchanger (50 rows), and upgraded dual-pass DCT cooler - no quantifiable data given yet, but the testimonial was "The cooler is cold as ice after an all-out 1 hour + session on the track"
    - They'll be testing their car again, in preparation of the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, this weekend at California Speedway. I'll be there personally, and I'm expecting it to be in the high 80's / low 90's at the track.. Will report back with results.

  4. We got a lot of good feedback on our new cooler design from our dealers and other members of this community from around the world at the show which we value greatly. We're pretty much good to go with production starting next week with a few final touches to be implemented. We'll be airfreighting the 1st 20 units to try and have them here before Christmas. About 8 of them have already been spoken for (including Pure Performance's personal vehicle). Also, if anyone is local So-Cal, and is going to be at the Speed District event this Sunday, you can check our Ian's (DoctorFord on IG) or Yost Autosport's vehicles - they have this cooler installed.

  5. Lab testing from our ISO certified lab will be released before the final production model will be available to market.

  6. Here are some pictures of the production level "Crinkle" black powder coating that will be the stocking version of this cooler. This one was painted locally in Orange County, CA by local experts Embee Performance. This one with raw/exposed hardware. Options are endless!

Please let me know if anyone has any questions.

If anyone, wants to get on an email list for the chance to get on the 1st 20 batch - please PM me your email address & contact info.

Looking forward to getting these on more cars!!

    - Ravi

Just waiting for our first shipment to arrive in the next few weeks!

In the mean time we've been focusing on finishing our dyno and road testing, while CSF is working on lab and bench flow testing.

Unfortunately the weather has been working against us as it's just been too cool to get the last bit of data we really need. We've reschedule a couple different tests sessions since the weather has been working too well in our favor! (These cars perform very well as it is when the temps are below 70° F.)

Looks promising. Let me know if there's anything I can help out on the 3D printing & 3D printer side.

I dont get it. These were showcased a year ago on facebook. Everyone asked for data.

Here we are still. No data.

Seems kinda backwards that you have prototypes, plenty of miles, and you're going into production but have literally ZERO data.

I just cant see this being worth it if you aren't HEAVILY modified. the stock IC is damn good. probably why these numbers have been delayed for so long.

We just received the 1st set of prototype coolers yesterday (pictured above). We'll be getting all the data together, and we'll be releasing everything before the product is available for sale.

We first showed the development prototypes in early October, and have only had working prototypes on our development cars by the start of November. (just prior to SEMA week)

While California is generally warm year round, we just haven't had the right conditions to collect that last bit of data we need to show the benefits of all (4) different product combinations.
  • Stock Charge Cooler / Stock Heat Exchange
  • Stock Charge Cooler / Upgraded Heat Exchanger
  • Upgraded Charge Cooler / Stock Heat Exchanger
  • Upgraded Charge Cooler / Upgraded Heat Exchanger
There's no doubt that the OEM cooling system on the stock car is quite efficient, but as soon as you start increasing boost and power levels you do start to see increased IAT's and water temperatures.

As soon as we get a day or two with 80°+ F, we'll be back out on the road and at the drag strip to show the recovery benefits of the Heat Exchanger, and the cooling/power benefits of the Charge Cooler.

We'd rather not post incomplete data that inspires more questions than answers, which is why you haven't seen any recent updates.

I'd say if you were tracking your f80/2 and running a tune of any sort, this would be wise.

I like how a mod that makes an already VERY efficient and capable factory cooling system possibly a TAD more efficient in the most extreme of situations titled a "game changer" ...more like = "a nice cooling system mod if you have money to burn in your wallet."

News flash; there ARE no results after nearly a year because unless you're racing an 800HP car running 30+lbs for an endurance race on a course in the Sahara desert mid summer the benefits are negligible over stock

So much negativity.

Dinan and Awe have posted results for you with just the front mount heat exchanger. So obviously it does make 10 HP difference with just the front mount.

As for the top one, its eye candy. The stock one is butt Ugly.

The looks alone are worth the top one. It completes the look of the car for those with crinkle black charge pipes and CAI.

Sure the gains are moddest, and will benefit harder tuned cars more, but a nice mod. Consistency is always nice to have. Things like this, add consistency and reliability. Its not always about adding maximum HP. Sometimes its about restoring what would have been LOST HP, or maintaining maximum HP when other cars ECU are backing off their power for protection.

I agree with everything you just stated. But again, what you just stated is nowhere near a "GAME CHANGER" lol.. which was my point.

True, its just like once in a lifetime opportunities. I noticed that they were appearing in my inbox on a daily basis.
