As to CS vs CP, again I’ll say it’s likley more appreciated by a track enthusiast vs a daily driver, which the former really takes advantage of the weight savings and better tires. Just my thought on the topic based on the perspective of a daily driver with no intention to track.
Agreed, we're on the same page . The CS is definitely not for everyone and is not that much better (if at all) than a CP for DD only vehicle.

no on the ceramick brakes (17k for a brake job is nothing i want or need) yes on the executive package and black saphire color option. msrp $102,395 sale price $96k @ 2.8%. seemed like a deal i couldnt pass up. if i waited im pretty sure id have a blue car. seems lkke 70% of the cs are one of two blues or LRG. black just looks so mean and im meeting with a shop tomorrow about wrapping it in xpel.

According to the F80 production data thread, half of all the M3cs are blue:
SMB 32%
BSM 19%
LRG 18%
AW 16%
FDB 14%

Should be roughly 7% below MSRP. Holdback is another 3%.

I got mine in alpine white with the executive package and dealer window tint for 94, 500. Happy as hell. One other thing I was willing to pay a premium for was the exclusivity and rarity of the model. It’s just cool to have a CS

Now, that being said, I agree that the CS is quite overpriced relative to the CP in the US. For my part, I got close to 10% of discounts on my M4cs that already starts at much more reasonable MSRP in Canada and paid ~$85k USD for it (before taxes). Definitely worth it to me .
I don't understand how you can make the statement that its worth it in Canada and not in the USA. This is only true when you're looking at exchange rates but you are not buying from the USA and doing an exchange rate comparison.

The most accurate scenario is that you are a Canadian using the money you earn in Canada to afford the car. Example:

-Canadian Engineer makes $120K/year CDN and pays $115K CDN for the CS.

-USA Engineer makes $120K/year USD and pays $100K USD for the same car with the same options.

In most cases, Americans earn more salary for most of the professions. Also, most Canadian provinces have higher taxes than USA states which means you can add another 7% to that figure.

In my view, the American gets the better deal.

BMW in Canada is offering much larger discounts on the CS (just like in the UK) which brings the price of the car closer to a highly option CP car. BMW in USA held off on discounting the cars until recently but the discounts are small compared to what dealerships in Canada are offering.

My conclusion about Canada getting a "better deal" on the CS is based on the relative premium we have to pay over a CP. I did a comparison between my M4cs and an M4 Comp pack how I would have ordered it. In Canada there was a 16% premium while there was a 33% premium in the US between the same 2 cars. That's a hell of a difference:

Quote:
Originally Posted by CanAutM3 View Post

By speccing an M4 Competition to my liking (how I would order it) in both configurators and then speccing an M4CS as I ordered it is quite revealing:

US ........ M4 CP: $83,140 - M4CS: $110,945 (+33%)
Canada.. M4 CP: $103,097 - M4CS: $119,990 (+16%)

So my M4CS would have whopping 33% premium over the CP in US. While still hefty, it is only a 16% premium in Canada, which makes the pill easier to swallow. Further, in Canada, as opposed to US, the CS can be leased and many dealers are offering discounts on them.

Yes.

One of my local dealerships is advertising the CS for $12k under MSRP on their website.

I picked mine up this morning and I think I got a fantastic deal because it also got me out of my X5 lease a year early, but I was quoted a significant discount from MSRP before I even mentioned my lease trade.

M3 CS prices

I see a lot of m3 cs on dealer lots and was wondering how much people are paying for these or how much discounts dealers are offering. I just saw a LRG M3 CS and makes me have 2nd thoughts ( I have a m2c coming in January)

You can get a CS around $95K if the dealer want to move inventories.
