Stick an Audi badge on it and most would probably love it, but then I guess when you employ the ex-Audi design guy you'd expect that.
I think the whole range is getting better looking - would I buy one - No, because I am a badge snob.

It's going to have to better price differentiate, but it's a great looking and equipped vehicle with great everyday functionality.
At that price point, I'd stretch my budget a bit more into something like an S5 sportpack, an rs3, etc. |

I would excuse a lot of issues if they just tuned it like a race car with a license plate |

It's a four door hatchback salon. If they can drop some weight and put out a two door you might get your wish.

https://www.kia.com/us/en/content/ve...rs/gt4-stinger 2+2 and 2874lbs That's a LOT of weight to shed A 3800lb sedan based coupe (aka Audi S5) is not really my cup of tea EDIT: when I meant "all out" I was day dreaming of my uncle's 914-6 GT factory race car. No chance anything THAT focused will be manufactured and end up with a street license plate, but hey, I would be all over a kia if it truly had that level of focus and capability |

I sure am considering it!
$40K without all the stupid bells and whistles? $15K cheaper than an equivalent S5 sportback! Frees up the money to get an Audi R8, rather than using the M3 as a compromise car (albeit an excellent one).

Anyone interested in a Stinger should just wait one year and pick one up for $10k or more off MSRP.
The resale cliff on these cars is going to be a horror show. |

Genesis g80 is a great example. You can get one with less than 100 miles for $30k all day long now (msrp low to mid $40k) |

LOL!
I'd take it over a 320i though....especially with the $10k-$15k off sticker we are soon to see if Genesis is any indication I think it is too bad that Kia and Hyundai aren't getting more acceptance more quickly since I do think they are putting out solid cars now, but your post pretty much sums up how most people feel, and I think that's going to take a long time to change |

I was actually thinking of it. The lines look smooth and silky. KIA have come a long way with their design, especially their interior. I like their seats, more detail than others in its class. It does look very sporty and would probably be an ass kicker at the track.........and then
I woke up. Glad it was only a dream. Hell to the mother of NO on KIA. |

Looks like a very good lower priced competitor for 340's,540's or c43 AMG, S5 ect.
The hate from BMW and Audi drivers is driven by insecurity, but Its not in the same bracket as an M4. |

I'm just glad car companies (regardless of brand) are still making cars like these. With all of the environmental focus now a days, I'm awaiting the future of boring cars (except for the Tesla P100D of course).

I 100% agree w/ him. For the price, you can't beat it. It comes with full options, a good motor, a fantastic 100k 10 year warranty, and it looks pretty damn good. He also thinks that it won't be a success b/c almost all of America is flocking to SUVs and crossovers. The sedan segment is dying pretty quickly. |

HAHAHAH, BMW and Kia are different levels. Its no were close, in terms of speed its not close and everything else its literally like comparing a Kia to a BMW. If you want a faster car there are a lot of options, BMW is a package and a brand, very few come close (yes there are higher end but more expensive). You'll never find a BMW driver selling his BMW and going to a Kia unless his/her wallet needs the extra cash and has given up on their will to like cars. I've personally looked at the 2018 mustang and for the price of an M4 loaded you can buy 2, I still prefer my M4 and will never switch to a Mustang even if the performance numbers are their its a different package.

I can't see any serious car enthusiast buying this car.
For $50K you're looking elsewhere if you have good taste and know what you're doing. I respect the attempt but for $50K I'm looking at BMW, Porsche, Vettes, Camaro's, Audi, Ford (Gt350, save some dough and GT) etc. |
