Get the dealer to pay for the cost in changing your tickets etc and get the adaptive suspension, if you use this car for a DD. The comfort is nice, I used it on the E 92 M3 a lot. The new cars are more stiff.

Haven't driven the passive suspension, but I'm using my as a dd over the summer and I spend most of my time in the comfort setting. For the street it is perfect and still keeps body control in check. I can't even imagine sport plus being suited for the track. I like to feel the car and if the passive suspension is the same as sport on the adaptive, it would be a bit too firm for me everyday.
Make sure you get a great deal if you go for the car. You should be greatly compensated. |

It will work in your favor if you are planning to lower the car. You will not have to worry about the EDC.

I don't know, it seems like we keep missing what adaptive suspension is all about. The ability to specify comfort, sport, sport-plus is the easy part. The really cool thing about adaptive suspension is that it micro-adjusts to near-instantaneously respond to movements at each wheel.
At some point it should be possible to program changes in time at each wheel to adjust to exact locations on a race course. The only piece missing is military-spec GPS.

Passive suspension does not seem firm vis a vis my RS. Feels planted but very comfortable. Even in the RS I usually pick the stiffer setting. Most likely at some point the suspension will be upgraded and then I will be glad I do not have to deal with disabling the adaptive electronics.

I wouldn't worry about it cause for me, I would need to lower this car asap...wheel gap looks like an SUV...may handle well but doesn't look right for this car imho.
I was going to get a car with adaptive but now don't care, as it will need full on coil overs. |

Lol. This is not true at all. The adaptive suspension gets as much if not more tuning and development than the passive suspension.

That said, I'm sure the passive suspension is quite good.

If you want a more comfortable ride, why not an M5?
I think even as an option, the adaptive suspension doesn't belong in the M3/4. This is supposed make you feel alive? Don't dull it down. I would make the salesmen pay dearly for the mistake, maybe some type of 3k credit or something but I sure as hell would not eat the car. You'll end up liking it the way it is. |

I have the passive suspension in mine and I love it. I wouldn't sweat it unless you must have another button to press.
