Question to all you car seat experts....

How much room is back there in an M3 vs an M4?

We are expecting and I need to pull a trigger on a car soon.

Really like the M4 but the responsible thing would be to get the 4door.

Any thoughts?

Hey all, has anyone found if tall rear facing convertible seats on the passenger side block your blind spot? I own a clek foonf and am wondering how that would fit... I like to have the seat low and am 5'10"...

I have the recaro rear facing convertible seat and its not too bad in the M4. However it is a pain in the ass trying to get the kid in and out of the back seat. I imagine the M3 would fare much better.

just stumbled on this article when researching boosters for my kid who is about to graduate to this type of seat. after reading this, i need to get rid of my recaro performance ride convertible seats and look into something else. i emailed recaro as well to express my disappointment and to see what they are doing to address the situation.

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/c...ide-child-seat

yes consumer reports is testing at a higher standard than the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) but i'm not willing to take any chances with my kids even if it is only 35mph as opposed to 30mph. if recaro responds to me, i will let you guys know.

quick update. recaro offered to replace my seats with different ones but i had already ordered and installed britax marathon clicktight seats in my m4 and x5. i asked them to send me high back boosters instead and they agreed after several days and escalation to their corporate office. funny thing was that they didn't want my old seats back any more and asked me to cut the seat belts and dispose of them, which i did.

the britax are heavier, have steel frames, and are way easier to install using the seat belt rather than the latches. they are slightly more expensive as well.

I have driven my six year old twins in my m4 for a year and a half. They get in and out of it faster than my wife's mdx. I use bubblebum car seats which fit perfectly in the back and have a great safety rating.

Thanks for the update. I have also contacted them about my concerns but haven't heard back yet.

Does anyone have a good solution for protecting the backs of the front seats from little feet? I haven't seen any protectors that look like they work with the M3/4 sport seats.

I've searched long and hard for solution and can't really seem to find anything. I just use the ones that everyone sells and when the kids aren't in the car I take the strap around the headrest off and tuck the seatback protector under the seat. Not the most viable solution but that's all I got. I know some people have clear bra'ed their seat backs but that was a little much for me.

This right here, my son always has his shoes off because socks won't damage or scratch the interior. Now if I can only get him to stop pushing on the seat with his feet.

All I would say is " these kids/babies/infants are lucky to be riding in m-achines so early in their life".

It's the worst with the ZCP seats because they stick their feet in the slots and kick you

Yeah that's why I didn't get the Comp package (I was actually too stingy). I do take his shoes off but sometimes the odors coming from those size 5 shoes are intolerable.
