RKP lip installed - Mineral Gray M3

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Overall I love this lip, mostly because it allows you to run an M Performance design without the splitters. CF quality is very good. Fitment is 7/10 - good but doesn't quite snug up on the ends and I really had to struggle to get the bolts in on one side (was about 1 bolt hole size off). The lip is just as rock solid as the M Performance.

Height difference - stock w/ no lip vs. RKP. Stock height.

Looks awesome. RKP is always a top notch choice. Fitment is very good, and the quality of their carbon is incredible.

Nice work! I also installed one last weekend after getting the side skirts which fit perfectly. The RKP lip took some coaxing and is still about 2mm off but it's as close as it can get.

I had to move all 4 predrilled holes on the tabs as they weren't even close to the speed clip holes. Additionally the two center holes were too small for the included hardware.

While it took more work than expected, the end result is very good but for anyone else considering don't buy one thinking it's just going to magically line up with your car's bumper. The quality of the finish and the included hardware is excellent and this is still my favorite splitter.

I have this lip as well. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm very disappointed with the fitment and would not buy this item again. It's disappointing when these companies position their products and services in the marketplace as premier or a cut above and they fall flat.

Looks awesome, its too bad that to many driveways around here would not comply with that lip.

Thank you guys for your honest feedback. While we always love reading the glowing positive reviews of our product / products that we proudly distribute, it does help to read some that allow us the opportunity to refine our methods.

I truly believe that the RKP carbon front lip is a cut above in many ways and we've put in an immense amount of time to develop it from start to finish. As a consolation to the lip's visual quality, it seems like a lot of the struggles we've read about this lip center on installation difficulty. Although we do certainly recommend this lip be installed by a certified professional body shop, I believe we can do more to ensure it can be installed more proficiently and easily by a weekend warrior. We will take a look at our template and see how we may improve it to better serve you all.

Just for clarity - I don't have quite as strong a feeling as the other poster on this lip - I would definitely buy it again and the quality is fantastic. With any carbon product, I don't expect it to fit perfectly. As for professional installation, I consider myself an advanced DIYer (been working on cars for 20 years) so I was able to get everything installed eventually, I was just giving casual DIYers a heads up.

Thanks for stepping into this thread to comment. The piece is of great quality, no question about that. One of the better carbon fiber pieces I've seen. I also have the RKP diffuser and can say the same with respect to quality. The fitment, however, is not very good. These pieces are too expensive in my opinion to not fit well. Just to be clear, I had this piece installed professionally at a shop IND is relatively familiar with/recommended. I will need to make my third trip to the shop for an adjustment at some point.

allinon72 apologies for hijacking your thread as that was not my intention. I will not comment further on this matter in this thread.

So I guess trying to adjust the front lip myself is probably not recommended based on the comments here. My driver side is not lining up as well as the passenger side. Purchased from IND and also installed by their recommended shop.
