Running 18" Apex wheels
Any issues with running apex 18 in wheels with 35 series Nt01? It’s a smaller diameter than stock. I ran them on my base m4, but am wondering if the diameter difference on the gts will cause a problem.

Did your base have carbon ceramics? I feel like they wouldn't clear

Need to either downgrade to the non-CCB calipers, or switch to a BBK that clears it. AP Racing 9668 + 9449 is the combo I'm planning on swapping to this winter to clear 18" wheels + use an iron rotor.

In that case then the only issue I can think of relates to MDM/ABS having issues, and that might be hard to get good data on. Seems most people who track their cars immediately turn off MDM, as it sounds rather intrusive. Curious if the ABS can adapt or if it will pulse incorrectly for the tire size/compound.
If you go with the NT01 I would like to hear your impression + see your results. I'll probably start on NT01s, as it sounds like they wear very well and are quite predictable. |

I’m doing a track day at Road America this weekend. I always run with traction control off. I didn’t have any issues running them on my base. 275 up front, 305 rear. I’ll post after how it went.

They fit. Hopefully it isn’t too cold this weekend at Road America

May I ask for the brake kit item numbers and the specs on the wheels?

https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...-f87m2f80m3f82 https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...36530mm-M2M3M4 The wheels are APEX SM10. Common setups are 18” 9.5et22 F + 18” 11et44 R or 18” 10et25 F + 18” 11et44 R. Both clear the Essex/AP brake setups. There are a few other options available if you prefer a square setup or are willing to work a bit to stuff a 295 or 305 tire on the F. |

MDM was very intrusive. It was cold at Road America only 38-44 deg so I did run with mdm as I couldn’t get much heat into the Nt01tires. The overall diameter on the rear tires are about .5 in off stock I believe, and I think this was why the mdm was so intrusive. I usually run with traction control all the way off.

I only used MDM on the two wet runs that weekend. It dropped my lap times by several seconds, but did save me once at turn 3 and again at 12. Planning to run the Nitto NT01 315/30ZR18 rears and Toyo R888R 295/30ZR18 fronts next season. Can't wait to see if I can catch you with those! lol

Yes, the dust shields need to be trimmed. The back especially. The back have a slight lip toward the hub that was rubbing slightly on the backside of the inner hat. Not too hard to trim all the way around with tin snips.

Also, any issues running the 18 inch wheels. I haven't looked at the overall diameter of your tire set up but I'm guessing it's a bit shorter than stock, especially in the rear. No big concerns? How far off is the speedo? |
