Anyone use codemycar.com?

Was curious if anyone has done the remote coding from codemycar? Any issues of negative reviews?

Have a 2016 M3 and was looking to get a few things coded. They have a "lifetime guarantee" and state they will recode it for free for the lifetime that I own the car.

Subscribed. I have been wondering about these guys also. In the past I used "octopump" from the other forum. Awesome guy and local to me.

Yep! Okee is great to work with.

He did my X5 a few years ago when I bought it, and then did it all again for free earlier this year when a dealer SW update wiped out all my coding.

Highly recommend.

+1 for Okee and codemycar. He just did my F83 and did my F30 before that. Easy to work with and recoded my car after the dealer did some updates.

As an FYI - you'll need to download a bunch of big files beforehand.

Totally worth it.

What was needed on your end? Just a laptop with internet access and the cable?

Yep, that's about it. Make sure your laptop has plenty of space/memory. There's about 10 files that need to be downloaded beforehand. With an ethernet connection the downloads goes a bit quicker than wifi.

The whole coding process is a couple of hours too.

You also have to be comfortable giving Okee full remote access of your computer.

Love the anti dazzle LED's, folding mirrors and ASD coded off. Overall, well worth the $150 bucks.

I'm so glad Shawn and dmnc have guided me through how to Code, and their exceptional patience is noteworthy.

I was really afraid of screwing up my M4, having never coded a car before. But they walked me through it, each step, and now I'm pretty comfortable VO coding and FDML coding my M....and because of that, I love my customized M4 all the more.

Many kudos to Shawn and dmnc for their patience and vast knowledge. My M4 ownership experience would be far less exciting and fulfilling without them.

Just had my car coded by Okee on Monday. Very cool guy. He sent me the cable and had me download some files, we launched a GoTo Meeting, and he coded away. About an hour later everything was done. I had him change my blinker to 7 instead of 3 and didn't like it and he is fixing it for me tonight free of charge.

Definitely recommend!

Having done your own coding, have you discovered any unusual features that can be coded?

For example, I had Okee code the front fog lights and convenience access (seat move back upon entry and exit) based on what I learned here.

Most of my coding has been standard stuff.

Where are the front fog lights? I have LEDs, and I've often wondered where these were?

I coded the convenience access, but didn't like it, so I uncoded that one.

Can remote coding be done if I have an Apple laptop or does it have to be a Windows laptop?

Okee can work with you regardless of Windows or Apple OS.

The front fogs use the turning lights. You have to do the same light switch mod as you would for the rear fog.

Major props to Okee from CodeMyCar.com. He was responsive, quick and nailed everything the first time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or to use him again.

Call/email Okee and chat with him about exactly what it does.
