About 500 miles in (120 miles day trip plus some town driving) after dealer put another set of front disc and pad.
I'm surprised to say so far so good, and fingers crossed they stay this way! As you can see the new disc marks are still visible. At the same mileage my last set of discs are wapred already... What I did after I got the car back is retorqued all wheel nuts - both dealer and the tyre shop I used tighten it way too much especially for the rear, it must be 300+ nm. However I highly doubt this will have anything to do with disc warp tho. In the meantime I did speak with another guy on facebook - he has had the second sets of disc and pad fitted (front and back) and it warped again, he suspect this has something to do with the OEM disc quality some may have defect from factory but there is no way to be sure. Anyway, I'll report after 1,000 and 1,500 miles if it's still good then I guess I should be ok for a while. |

Ferodo DS1.11 in the front, DS2500 in the rear, installed. Brake judder: G O N E, 100 % Literally took 17 miles for the vibrations to totally disappear. Had a track day last week and brakes still smooth as glass.

I'm about to have shoulder surgery so once that's over and healed I'll see if I can pick up a set of track pads and really clean the rotors then swap the Akebono's back on. Glad yours is gone....hopefully it stays that way!

I'm going to order DS2500 for the front axle and ditch OEM pads...

Hey guys - After reading the whole post i am trying to decide if i should go back to the dealer for new pads/rotors and swap the rotors with Ferodo DS2500 after or just change the pads now. Like everyone else, had the same issue. Dealer changed the pads/rotors under warranty. 600 miles after same judder. |

If you do swap them, let us know how it goes. I think that'll dictate whether I get a set or not as the Akebono's just aren't cleaning things up enough.

If you look at my previous post you'll notice I experienced the same - judder, new front discs and pads, 300 miles in judder again. No pad deposit visible on any disc, I also tried changing to DS2500 but doesn't help. Somehow after the dealer put second set of front disc and pads the judder disappeared and still good after 900 miles which lead me to believe some discs may have defect from factory or the disc shall be treated with extra care for the first 300 to 500 miles. I remember making a very hard braking with the first set because I overtook a slow vehicle then saw a speed camera, it was raining as well. After that my brake began to feel funny but nothing to really confirm both my hypothesis. |

It's only between 40-50mph though, all other times the car feels fine. It got less pronounced when I swapped the Akebono pads on too but it hasn't gone away completely. That's where I've been at the last few months. Pretty much just living with it at this point.

When I swapped the pads out I checked what I could with the calipers and they didn't seem overly dirty/clogged/etc and the pistons seemed to move fine. I don't notice any dragging or anything from the pads either so to my knowledge the calipers are working like they're supposed to. I'll try some proper track pads at some point and see if it'll clean everything off. Maybe there's still a few small deposits, who knows.

Update -
Ordered new DS2500 Pads however also went to the dealer. They said “Ohhh never seen this before. Front are fine and now it’s your rears. We don’t have rear rotors in stock so will call you soon”. But idk crazy how i feel the judder upfront idk maybe they are right. Regardless, i will be changing the front pads and have them put new rear brakes. Will keep yall posted!! |

Seems weird the judder would be gone with replacing the fronts though and then come back and it's the rears. You'd think it would be there regardless. Definitely let us know how it goes!

On the second set of rotors and pads as I just got the F80 Comp from the shop again...the shop foreman said it's "fixed". We will see. Replaced at 26k miles then at 28k miles. Was even worse after just 2k (the first round of replacements). Front left has been the shudder/teeth shaking issue...
This needs to get resolved. I don't want to have a reason to get rid of the car. |

unfortunately, the judder is back again with DS1.11 pads on! I am definitely putting this down to the DSC now. They were very smooth for about a month after I honed the discs and drove around with DSC off. I then drove to the Nürburgring in very wet weather and kept noticing that the DSC had 'switched itself back on' quite a few times during the journey. Eventually I realised that it was when I turned the cruise control on that it switches DSC back on - whoops! Anyway, before I even got to go 'Bridge to Gantry' the brakes were heavily juddering. This was on DS1.11 pads all round. Again, DSC off for most of the way home and the judder was nearly gone. I've put genuine M Pads back in and going to take it back to dealer.

Going back in for this issue again! Dammit.
3rd time in 4k miles. What is going to fix this? I'm not stepping out of warranty without them correcting it... |

I'm completely out of ideas at this point and don't know what to do. I just want the car to stop shuddering, it's ridiculous. They've replaced my fronts 3 different times, as well as the front wheel hubs. I just can't seem to make it go away, it's still there between 40-50mph no matter what. I can't figure out why it would only be between a certain mph range. Something rotational that only that speed range causes an issue/vibration on? I'm at a loss.

The first 2 visits they replaced rotors and pads.
Now they are concerned the front left wheel is not running true on the hub so they ordered a new competition 666M wheel. Also putting on new rotors and pads again... I told them to check hubs, bearings, control arms, calipers, etc When I get it back I'll run down all items replaced and what happens... Also to note my warranty ends now so I am trying to do my best to document I won't accept unless fixed! |

40-50 mph vibration not under braking? Have you tried road force balancing?

The judder is only while braking between 40-50mph, but no I haven't tried road force balancing the wheels/tires (yet).
