265/285 with spacers?

For those of you running a 265/285 tire set up, are any of you also using spacers? And if so could you post pictures? I tried searching in the 15 page long thread about spacers but i couldn't find any. I had a 15mm/18mm when i was running a stock tire set up and now that i switched to the bigger size i didn't put the spacers back on. Was thinking maybe 5mm in the rear and 10 in the front?

I run 265/285 and use 12mm spacers up front and 15mm spacers in the rear. However, I'm not on stock wheels, so we have different offsets.

When I was on stock wheels and tires I ran 15mm up front and 20mm out back. So I imagine you can easily run 5 & 10 or more depending on the look you prefer. I like the bulging out of the wheel well look personally. heh.

I run 255/285 on 20" with 9mm out in front and 8.3mm in rear for the offset of the aftermarket rims.

Was thinking of putting the 285's in front and getting 305s for the rear. Not sure the 285's will work.

also my car is lowered on HR super sports.

I just upgraded my tires to 265/285 Bridgestone RE71R's and tried using my 12/15mm spacers with my new setup. The 15mm's on the rear work well and look very aggressive. The 12mm's up front were causing rubbing on my fender liners so I removed them. I'm on stock 19" wheels and stock adaptive suspension. 5mm will definitely work but I'm wondering if 10mm still rub. Anyone try 10mm spacers with 265 tires up front?

I just ordered that exact config. Right now I am running 20mm in the back and 15mm in the front on stock Michelin's but will need to change when the new tires come in. I have the whole like of BMS spacers at the shop so will try them out and see what fits best. I have an F80, so not sure if you have M4 or M3, so may be different.

10mm will be fine. You increased front width of the tire by 5mm on each side (roughly), so your new front max spacer that will work (on stock alignment) should be 10mm. A better way to confirm would be to check the tread width and section width of the bridgestones vs stock (as listed by tirerack) to confirm the gain in tread width as 10mm. Some tires are actually wider/less wide than the listed size.

FYI, my intention on 18" wheels and stock suspension is to go 265/285 with ~10mm spacers front and rear.

Mike, I have an M4. I love the RE-71R's so far. I just installed a JB4 and it's like a whole new car with the power and grip increase. I have a track event next weekend so looking forward to seeing what she can really do!

Thanks Joe. I think I will give the 10mm a shot.

Installed MPSS 265 / 285 set-up, and it feels great. Car is on Swift springs and has 12mm spacers all around. No rubbing. Digging the fuller / meaty look vs. the Contis I had, fills up nice. Car has -2.0 camber all around, neutral toe front and a tad +toe in rear.

Tried the set-up on track and it felt solid. Towards the end of the 20 min session started to get a lil greasy, but still fine given they're not r comps.

To dial out some of the tail happy nature of the car, I took out the spacers up front and left them in the rear, what I believe would simulate wider track in the rear, and it worked like a charm.

Coming in hot on a couple turns the car was very confidence inspiring / stable. In the chicanes, and high speed turns, it performed flawlessly, really felt like a solid set-up. Note, running the car on Swift springs.

Can i install 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 tires on stock 19" rims without the tires rubbing on the car's frame? Or do I need spacers?

Does your car sit lower than swift springs? Reason I ask is I see youre on a 12mm spacer and you say youre not rubbing in the front. I am running 275/35/19 MPSS in the front on swift springs and was wondering if I can run the same 12mm spacer or if I should go 10mm. I want the super aggressive stance and honestly don't mind rubbing a tiny bit. Here are the specs on both out front tires per tirerack

265/35/19 RE71R - Section width 10.7", Tread width 9.6"
275/35/19 MPSS - Section width 10.9", Tread width 9.5"

What do you think?

From what I have seen, my current front settings would be pretty close to Swift Springs, I think max front drop on the KW is 1.2" and I could still go about a .25" lower, and Swift Springs lower 1"

I would have had a real world answer on rubbing with the Re71r on swift for you, as I was supposed to have Swift Springs installed by end of day today, but the shop didn't get it done.

I'm pushing it with the 12mm in front, and think it will be very close with your little bit of extra width, might be worth it to run the 10mm.
