Too expensive. Let's do as all the cool kids do and take a few lines from a takeout menu and lie to the people who ask what it means.

Book the salon.

Done and done.

(as long as you are ok replacing "salon" with "reasonably clean-ish looking guy working out of a van in this alley in downtown Winnipeg")

Yeah, I'd love to see us roll in our subtle cars to one to save a few bucks on a menu tattoo. I think wah would show up to take pics of this in his white car for sure.

Oh and I would suggest you OptiCoat Pro or Modesta - it will help keep the paint looking great for a long time.

I'm not sure I like the direction this thread is going.

Shouldn't it be in OT?

Meh, I sometimes envy white cars while being pulled over again and they drive past but blending in has never been my goal in life.

(I'm aware racism is a huge issue here in the states. I have zero respect towards anyone who labels us because of religion, race, sex, or sexuality. To me, we are equal in every way and what is inside the person only matters, as long as they are not driving white cars)

Just wanted to give my input. I have a BSM 128i that is stored in covered parking at night and outdoors at work during the day. You can see a fine coating of California dust on it just 30 minutes after finishing your hand wash. Within 2-3 days you start to notice dirt on it from about 10 feet away. Degrades quickly after that, but you can never tell it is dirty from more than 30 feet. I put on several coats of Zaino Z-CS and upkeep with Z-6 after washes, so there is some extra shine and mirror effect that helps distract from the dirt at distance.

I have two wash methods. One is a spray down at the local self-service wash, followed by ONR or Z-6 wipe down, and the other is two-bucket hand wash when I get a chance to visit my folks. (Nowhere to hand wash car where I live because of water restrictions.)

Light swirl marks have developed after a few months of this treatment, visible from 5 feet if you look hard. Not sure which one is doing it, as I always check for swirls when I do the rubdowns and never find any. I feel like it is the drying towel after hand wash that might be rubbing settled dirt around. Still trying to remember to pat dry. We have hard water and spots show really bad on BSM.

Hopefully that gives you some idea of what maintenance is like on that color. Planning to upgrade to SO M3 soon. Never really liked black, and it is too hot during CA summers.

But, I'd say get the color you like best. If it gets washed once a week, even black would be fine IMO.
I own the Mineral Grey now, and it drives me nuts when it gets rained on, but it is SHOCKINGLY pretty when clean. I had a Ti Silver M3 years ago and a Space Grey M5, and I think that the lighter silver color cars stay the cleanest looking the longest.

So, from the current standard palette, I'd probably go Silverstone for cleanliness (although those who've read my other posts know I'm not a fan of the faint bluish hue).

This is what made me delay in choosing it, and didnt get the change in time for production.

Just an update here because for some reason the app re-birthed this thread for me with some reputation thing ...
I ordered mineral white, picked it up in Munich last October and now it sits outside at nights. Here it is filthy after a drive to San Diego and back followed by 3 nights at dirty LAX. Still looks ok. You can tell its dirty and it doesn't look as good as it does clean but it doesn't look awful like black cars do when they are dirty. Ask me how I know

Then no black 4U

Another thing to maybe take in to consideration is where you live/where the car will be parked outdoors and who has access to it. I had an Estoril Blue F30 within my first year of moving to LA. I parked it at an outside lot in downtown LA once for a few hours, and came back to the hood being keyed. Lesson learned about using outside parking lots in DTLA. I went with Mineral Gray on the F80 to blend in a bit, as I think my Estoril Blue car would not have gotten unwanted attention if it were white, silver, grey, etc.

EDIT: just saw this thread is from a year ago and you went with white lol, congrats

I second YMB, and not as boring as white/silver.

Love it... Landmark package does a good job of classing up the interior and it's fun to drive because of the visibility (lots of glass). Motor sounds awful to me and it doesn't move like the hemi powered grand Cherokee it replaced but overall we are really loving it
