Please help me decide on exterior colour
Hey all,
I am pretty sure I will be trading in my 6mo old 340i for the car I have always dreamt of ever since the e36 M3 days. I don't know why i didn't just splurge for one at the time, but heck I am learning from my mistake and making the correction before my 340i depreciates any further! I intend to keep the car >10yrs! I am set on a 2017 M3, but am going back and forth, back and forth again and again, on the exterior colour. My only requirement is it should be an M exclusive colour. Interior will most certainly be Black. - Yas Marina Blue - Azurite Black - Tanzenite Blue - Santorini Blue* - Leguna Seca Blue* (*requires Ultimate PKg) As you can tell I am leaning towards the blue hues. Current 340i is BSM so the upkeep of a black car has been demanding, but dont mind. Options will be: - Premium - Exec - Comp Package - Speed Limit Info OR - Ultimate Package, if colour requires it. At this point i prefer saving the costs with going a la cart on the options assist with the depreciation hit i will take, but if decided on the color that requires the Ultimate Pkg I will go for that... I plan to make a decision this week to make ED delivery for end of August. Any advice appreciated.... |

Those individual blues are so pretty... I went with Silverstone myself, mostly because there wasn't a bright blue available.. I hadn't seen Yas in person, and a lot of the time it seemed to washed out in pictures.
I will say when i finally saw it in person it was not as washed out, and I can say I would have been happy with it... but I'm also very happy with my SS. I don't know the cost difference between Ultimate and the packages you chose.. but I'd probably go Yas and be done with it... If you're a retired multimillionaire and money really doesn't matter, then I might go Santorini Blue. But, I think most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference from Yas unless they were next to each other. |

The difference between the two options is fairly significant at about $8K, but then again the Ultimate Package has a few extras i,e: Carbon Package, and Tech Packages, so if I compare this to my a la carte option, the value is there in the ultimate. Then again I am far from being retired so the money issue is certainly an issue. |

LSB is gorgeous. There's one that's down the street from me and I'm jealous every single time it rolls by. My wife is not thrilled with that colour though. Not sure if the colour upgrade is worth it.
Also, not sure if you could get one of these individual colours by the August ED date. Did you check on this already? |

How long are you planning on keeping the car?
If your going to do it might as well do it right.. An think of it this way, there won't be a lot of Ultimates running around, it could have tons of added value when you sell it down the road. my vote Santorini Blue Is BMW CA changing any of the standard colors for MY 17? |

If you plan to keep the car for that long, I think going Individual would be great. I really like LSB personally. One if the classic BMW blues and it looks great on this platform

LSB or Santorini. I saw a Santorini E92 for the first time a few weeks back and it is quite bold. I personally would lean more towards that as it isn't a colour for the F30 335s. I've seen a few LSB 335s...but both in my opinion are quite stunning

Hmmm, are you sure those were not Estoril Blue II on those 335? Unless you guys up North are getting all the cool colors for the non M's, that would almost definitely be an Individual, and I doubt there's that many Individual 335i

They look at little something like this: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=909424 Plus, what would we do with a 335 when we have two ///M's? Lapse of judgement....or perhaps a winter beater Last edited by INDVDL///M; 06-06-2016 at 11:19 AM.. |
