Coding Help

My M3 should arrive at Winslow in a couple of weeks. ZCP Tanzanite Blue. Can anybody in Colorado Springs or Denver area help me code some features into the car in about a month or so? Happy to take you out to beers and/or lunch.

Thanks.

I coded mine about 3 years ago, and haven't touched it since, so I'd offer to help, but I'm unsure of the current procedures. If you can't find anyone else, let me know

I'm in the Springs and could help if you have not got it done yet.

It's funny, I just had to recode my car today, as Winslow BMW updated the software (necessary, as they had to replace a headlight module), so now I am all up on coding.

I'd like to take a crack at coding as well. I ran through all of the instructions to do it, but a little worried I won't know what feature does what. I'm in Parker, CO. Maybe I can meet up with someone sometime that can provide some guidance on this! Thanks!

I should be able to help out most that need it, just send me a message. @Dave 90TT next time Winslow updates the car, let me know and I'll do my best to get everything restored prior to picking up your vehicle.

Huh. I'm guessing you work at Winslow?

Either way, I'm not upset about it, it had to be done to fix the issue I had, and I have never had anything but stellar service at Winslow. Doing the recoding myself was easy, just had to remember how, since it had been 3 years since I initially coded my M.

Plus, since they had to order in the part, it took a couple of days, and I got an an extended test drive of my loaner vehicle (3 nights), an X5, which we have been thinking of getting for my wife's next car.

I'm curious, what options did you code on your F8x?

That's correct. I've been there a little longer than I care to admit haha. I enjoy being able to add a little extra value to service, when the opportunity presents itself. I'm happy to hear we've been taking care of you, that's always our goal.

I'd say, what is commonly done by everyone. There is a list out on the coding thread with the most common items.

Glare Free High Beam; the Euro coding for the adaptive lights is a must if you have the adaptive LEDs.

Getting rid of the start-up warning and just some personal preference tweaks from there. Overall, I did about 20 items each on my M4 and X5 if I remember.

I coded the following:

Quote:

ACSM
Disable Welcome 3 Gongs:
3000  Initialwarnung_GWF_IW set to: nicht_aktiv

SeatBelt Reminder Lights OFF
3000Gurtzustandsanzeige_Beifahrer_GFW_GZA_BF set to: nicht_aktiv
3000Gurtzustandsanzeige_Fahrer_GFW_GZA_FA set to: nicht_aktiv

Turn Off Seat-Belt Reminder Chimes:
3000  SeatBeltReminder_SBR_Fahrer set to: nicht_aktiv
3000  SeatBeltReminder_SBR_Beifahrer set to: nicht_aktiv

ASD Module:
Disable Active Sound Design
3000 Model Range set to: F021
3000 Engine Type set to: N20B20

DSC Module:
Enable Euro MDM:
C_Laenderkennung set to: ECE=00
CTpmsMarket set to: EU=00
CPrewarnEnable set to: enable=01
CPrewarnIgnition set to: enable=01
CalLrPDevMax set to: 50kpa=24
CPInitRangeMax set to: 80kpa=20
UiaSetLevelPc set to: 20%=14
UiwSetLevelPc set to: 15%=0F

FEM_BODY Module:
Unlock Door on Engine OFF (1 pull):
3040  CLM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK set to: aktiv

HU_NBT Module:

Remove Legal Disclaimers:
3001  LEGAL_DISCLAIMER_TIME set to: kein_ld
3001  MACRO_CAM_LEGALDISCLAIMER set to: kein_ld

Disable Office Function Speed Lock-Out
3000 OFFICE_MESSAGES_SPEEDLOCK_CONDITION set to: nicht_aktiv

Enable Full Text Lines in Office While Driving
3003  PIM_DRIVING_TEXT_LENGTH set to: whole text

IHKA Module:
A/C System Remembers Last Setting
3003MEMORY_OFF set to aktiv-werte

Always Remember Air Re Circulating
3003MEMORY_UMLUFT set to: aktiv
I tried coding the following (change the soft blink from 3 blinks to 5 blinks), but apparently, in the new version of ISTA (car software), this is not possible. MilehighM3 if you know another way to do this, feel free to chime in...

Quote:
FEM_BODY Module:
Change Triple-Blink Count to another Value:
3060  BLINKZYKLEN_ANZAHL_TIPP – Werte = # blinks minus 1
(ie. 4 blinks = werte=3)

There's plenty of coding cheat sheets which tell you the commonly used values out there; just google e-sys F80 cheat sheet

I've been trying a number of different things with regard to the tip blink count in no success. I may just back date the FEM and then see if I'm able to code them once again. It's tough to make the time for that sort of thing these days. Especially when I only own an E90 and don't feel like experimenting on someone else's car, although stranger things have happened! I'll let you know if I find anything.

Not trying to hi jack a thread but I also just purchased my M3 from Winslow. Just looking for other M3 owners that are local in the spring area. Maybe we can arrange a meet up date and have couple beers since this is my first BMW, so I'm really new to all this F80 talk.

I saw the Java Green one at the dealership when I brought mine in for the break in service last week. Let me know if you ever want to meet up and cruise!

I have an M3 order coming in to Winslow soon. Any chance someon could help me code items into the car? I was told by the sales team that there are software changes at my break in service so should I wait until after that service?

There are no software changes at the running in check, code away. I should be able to help you out with coding. Just shoot me a message of what you're looking to get done.
