FYI. I think you are scrubbing off speed way too early for turn 1 go much deeper, try getting on gas earlier out of 3, then hit 4 harder. Go considerably faster thru 8. Get on gas sooner out of bustop (if you can) and stay on it full until t1 entry. Take that with a grain of salt.... I wasn't in your car, just looking at the video, and I'm a rear engine guy. So I could be totally off.
I bet there is another 10 seconds to be had.

Curious though. I thought these cars topped out at 155
I lifted early at 1 to avoid running over that guy in the little birkin or whatever it's called. The bus stop was covered in dirt and an frs and a gt3 both ate the outside wall already getting on power too early/hard and spinning the tires. I got crossed up in the kink earlier on in the day so I slowed my entry speed there also. it's hard to get a perfect lap with so much traffic. There is more time to be shaved though I'm sure of it.

I'll have more input after today. I can say they are not as bad as people are making them out to be. I'm not trying to justify having them either. I'd much prefer the Michelins but after having them on track, it's really a toss up.

traffic sucks. managed a 2:13 held up by a couple mustangs. the car has sub 2:10 in it I'm sure. My 2 best unobstructed laps I had all day weren't picked up on harrys laptimer. I'm sure they were faster then 2:13 but no way to ever know.

idk about sebring. Too many of my friends have totalled their cars there. Last time I went, 2 e92 m3s were destroyed, then a couple months later a 135i. I'll have to check what's coming up but I think there's a December road Atlanta event and a January Roebling road.

Sebring is a very safe track. Tons of space for runoff everywhere.
I have over 100 track/race days logged at Sebring. You probably hear more incidents at Sebring just because it hosts (probably) 10x the track days compared to say Daytona.

I consider Daytona the most dangerous track in the south.
Barber and Roebling Road are very safe as long as the grass is dry.
I also consider Road ATL 2nd most dangerous.
I've seen more serious carnage at Road ATL than anywhere else. (Mainly because everyone seems extra careful at Daytona because it has a reputation for high speed tire failures)

Robling and ATL can be really really really cold in Dec + Jan. I've had ice conditions at both tracks in November. I pretty much write off everything not in FL from early DEC until March.
Then write off FL from June until October (due to rain)

So what did you think of the continentals?
Where they very consistent or did they trail off a little after getting hot.

For a full weight car, you really rocked the bustop good in that one!
Q: Are you off the gas some on the banks? It sounds like it. Why? Was it feeling unstable or something? Normally you would be wide open from 6->9 and 10->1. Feels like a sling shot!
Q: Where you bumping off the speed limiter much?
Q: How did the continentals hold up the 2nd day?
Q: What group was this?
Q: What were your camber settings? (Hopefully pretty flat)

-I never found the limiter. I believe i remember reading someone hit it at 167 but I'm not 100%.

-I was wide open most of the time on the banking. Sometimes fear took over lol. If I did lift, it was to maybe 90% throttle, no less.

-I'm really a fan of the contis. I'll post some pics of how they look when I get a chance, but they felt really good over the whole run. The middle rib is showing some edge wear on both fronts and the outside is getting a little feathered, but not how the michelins look after 1 weekend. Overall I think they are really good.

-Nasa DE2

-3* front and -2* rear. OEM toe settings. The right front was rolling over a little too much due to the banking. I was coming off at 38 psi all around. The r/f definitely needed a few more lbs though.

Also, the car kind of just stopped accelerating on the banking even at wot. It would hit 140-145 and just hang out there until it straightened up again. I was running euro mdm, so maybe the car was freaking out and that was trying to slow it down. The light was blinking all through the banking.

Hmmm. I would really like an explanation about that behavior. Totally not right. I've never seen a car freak out on any banking.
If it was my car I would be PO. With that behavior.

FYI -2 rear camber may even be a bit aggressive at Daytona. I run -2.5 and it absolutely destroys my rear tires. FYI I can't run any flatter than -2.5. Check your inner side walls for damage.
Good to hear you like the cont tires.

As far as the computer flipping out, You should open a separate thread asking about this issue. I'd be curious to know what is up with that.

I'm not too worried about it. I don't drive daytona enough for it to matter to me. I assumed the car just didn't know what was going on given all the inputs it was receiving. I doubt it was designed with daytona in mind. I'm sure traction control full off would fix it anyway.

Contis were fine I thought, consistent and gave you fair warning as they got a tad hot after multiple hot laps. I would say they are about the same as PSSs really.

I am toying with the idea of getting AD08s after these contis wear out, and use those for both daily driving + track. I just wonder how harsh the AD08s are on normal roads, and if they're super noisy...

I'm kind of in the same boat. I was tired of hauling an extra set of wheels/tires to the track in my back seat so I want something that will do both. I'm between those and re71r's. I've never been a bridgestone fan but they seem to have a lot of good reviews. Anyone else run them?

Agreed, I had a nice square set of track wheels for my E92, but after a while it got old lugging those around/dealing. I love being able to throw a bag in the back, some basic stuff, and show up ready to go. The best part is also being able to just get in your car at the end of the event, and just head home.

I've heard a lot of good press on AD08 Rs. Almost a done deal in my mind, but they max out at 275/35/19 (R), after that you have to go 295/30/19 (R). In any case, still got some time to make a decision.

M4 6MT, stock suspension, Carbotechs, R888s

First time on this track. Fun, technical track. Never really found the proper lines in many portions, but had fun anyway. R888s are getting a little long in the tooth (5 track days and been driving around on them on the street for 6+ months), but good for car control practice which was the purpose of the weekend anyway.
