Fading M logo on calipers?

Hey all; I picked up my second-hand '15 F82 a couple of months ago, and even before I got it I noticed the white "M" logo on the brake calipers have almost completely faded on all four brakes. Oddly just the white M, not the tricolor banding.

Is this a common issue? Or maybe the previous owner used too strong a brake cleaner?

Does the paint fade on them all over time?

My M4 is September 2015 built and the M logo on both rear calipers are also fading.
The tri colour's are fine.

There is no issue with the M logo on the fronts calipers.

I suspect something went wrong with the process of the paint.

I am booked in for minor warranty issue next week and I will ask about this isssue and see if there is a fix.

Late followup, but the local dealer I took my car to said this isn't a warranty fix for them; so no dice.

Did you have any luck?

May pick up a set just to see how they look. Sometimes when I see stickers on calipers it's pretty obvious, but if these blend well or there's no clear rectangle around the logo, problem solved

You could always cut them so there is no clear, if there is.

In case anybody else has had this problem, I finally ordered some vinyl stickers from Supdec. I didn't actually measure the logos on the calipers first which was a mistake, because the first set I bought was too big. So I re-ordered the smallest metric size they have.

Envelope takes a little while since they come from Ukraine. But quality overall is good. They include like 12 or so, more than I needed so if any already had an imperfection or air bubble I just tossed them.

Picked the four I wanted, wiped the calipers clean and covered what was left of the faded logos. The tricolor band was still there on all, but a couple had a fully faded M. Now they look bright again. Maybe too bright. All in all I'm happy though, glad I got these.

They look great. Seem perfectly adhered and it was really easy to line them up properly because of the faded painted ones underneath. I've put over 800 or so miles on them so they're holding up well.

I haven't taken my car in for a good cleaning/detailing that may have a soft brush rubbing against them yet, after I do that I'll update if any of them loosen up.

Update after a good wash, decals are holding up perfectly. Definitely worth it if you're annoyed by fading caliper logos

Fading M caliper logo fix!

Hello everyone, I found the small M logos on my calipers were starting to fade so I found an excellent fix for this. I ordered 4 heat resistant logos from a European logo company and just installed them today. If anyone needs the link to the decals feel free to PM me. Here's the before and after!

Not to critique but your alignment on the sticker over the logo is just a squidge off and it's killing me

Definitely way better than the faded. If you did it consistently like that all around it actually gives kind of a cool shadow/3D effect

Wouldn't do any good over already faded logos. And the vinyl replacements shouldn't need a clear coat to last.

I wonder though if in later builds they started to clear coat the calipers or used a better high temp paint. The only folks I've seen so far who also have faded logos are 2015 models like mine.

A local friend heavily tracks his M2 and his front calipers completely changed color from the blue to a...If I were looking at this chart, it would be a "cadet blue 5"

Definitely suggests the caliper paint doesn't have a high heat tolerance. Year of his M2?
