That’s correct. They are not available from BMW in the US unfortunately.

Metal rattle and vibration in center console

I picked my car two days ago and absolutely love it. I had an M2C delivered and changed my mind last moment and glad I did. However, the center console where they removed the arm rest is rattling so much on rough roads and it's really annoying. I have a feeling that the M2C was better built. Anyone else has this problem?

I have not had any rattling issues either

No rattling at all here at 1500 miles. Have the dealer take a look. One of my local dealers has a "rattle guy" who has good instincts when it comes to this stuff.

Chose whichever rocks your boat
is this confirmed? The M4 CS has a stiffer suspension than the M3 CS?

According to those that have done research in the BMW parts catalogue (spring part numbers are difficult to get access to), the M3cs has the regular M3 springs while the M4cs has the Competition Package springs. I am still digging to see if I can get a firmer "confirmation".

Today, with about 400mi on it, my driver side door started creaking and rattling like crazy. When I bring it in for my 1200mi service I'm gonna have them look at it.

Since the weather has warmed up, I've noticed a rattle exactly located to the right of the DCT lever....annoying and maybe time to sell shortly!!! j/k
Just swapped out my winters yesterday, so maybe a different tire will help some, but I doubt it.

Just wrapped up the 1200mile service yesterday and the car has been perfect. Out of the 6 M3's I've had this one is really the best, in my opinion.

The M3 CS has a uniqueness to it that embodies the whole car and it is hard to pinpoint what exactly it is but hats off to BMW for reversing course and making M cars more competitive in their respective segments.

I've owned several different M3s and this is by far the best iteration. I just wish more publications would test it out, as I'd love to know how it stacks up.

May be a dumb question but I am curious so here goes......

- Other than tuning for the suspension what exactly is the difference between a CS suspension and a standard M3/4?

- Does the CS wheel hub line up in the same spot as the non CS M3 with reference to the fender? To elaborate, if you throw on the standard M3 19's on the CS will the wheels line up the same (offsets, etc.) to the fender as they do on the standard M3? I understand height will be different but was wondering if the CS hubs are pushed out more than the standard M3's?

Thanks.

They appear to be exactly the same, but I haven't measured it. If there are any differences, it's minimal and not noticeable by the naked eye.

I read in another CS thread that the CS suspension hardware is composed of all CP components except for the front sway-bar and springs. I believe the front sway-bar is from the base model, but not sure about the springs. The key component is the EDC programming.

Again, that is what I have read a few times... I have no direct first hand knowledge to confirm.

The basic suspension geometry of the CS is identical to the base and CP. Only the GTS differs due to its unique machined from solid front hub carrier.

Even the 763M wheels share widths and offsets with the other F8X wheels (513M, 437M and 666M. Again here, only the GTS differs with 0.5" wider wheels and different offset in the rear.

The CS suspension differs in overall mechanical tuning with different pairing of components, particularly regarding sway bars, and electronic tuning of the adaptive dampers.

Thanks a lot. Reason for asking was mainly because the stock stance for the CS looks really good. It doesn't feel like it needs a drop. I know it's got a 19/20 setup but wasn't sure if the mounting points in the hubs were at the same locations. Thanks.

The M4cs actualy rides slightly higher than the base and CP M4, with a 9mm higher official quoted overall height.

WOW, this car handles almost completely different than my non-ZCP '16 M3! I had so much fun, I did it AGAIN tonight despite adding 30 minutes to my commute! It's so much easier to steer with the throttle, and it turns like there is a rope tied from the b-pillar to the apex, it's THAT balanced! It might not be a full on sports car, but it's very capable. I still need an MPE though!
