Normal here - never use comfort access. I have no interest in that kind of tech. Wish the car didn't come standard with it.

If the CS wheels were 20's in the front I would have already done it!
I see. What's your concern here? Aesthetics or having to buy new tires, etc? Seems like CS has the staggered setup so I guess car should run fine?
I love the design of the wheels. But I don't like the smaller look of 19's on the front. Just looks too small for my eyes. I realize it's probably a performance benefit.
these are 19/20
Assuming the caveat that appearance is to a large extent in the eye of the beholder, I have to say that I don't miss that extra inch in the front AT ALL. On the other hand, and since I have to drive this car mostly in New Jersey, I appreciate that extra sidewall very much indeed.

edit: no reflector shaming please, I've put INDs in there since this picture was taken.
Nice!! Did you powder coat them? Color looks great. Much lighter than Orbit Grey, at least to my eyes.

Ordered mine back in March. Purposely did not select the CarPlay option.

I think we're missing the main point here for why we disable it. Let's not kid ourselves guys. No one wants to have Carplay enabled and be driving a coworker, friend, your mother, etc. and receive a sext from your chick. Or have a psycho girl curse you out over 50 texts. These are just two examples.

These were the thoughts I had when I chose not select CarPlay. Lol

Honestly, I never even thought of this possible scenario. It's valid, just never crossed my mind....

powder coated from OEM black, color is very much like Ferric Grey but a few shades lighter.

even worse, to be driving your wife and either of those two scenarios happening

i got Carplay for the first time ever on my wife's Porsche and we were both immensely entertained that the voice will read out loud any word, no matter how vulgar. it's gotten to the point that if i know she's driving around with her friend Javy i'll text her "fuck off Javy. you are a douche bag"

Tangential question for those M4CS owners: Thoughts on the ceramics? Are they still super-squeaky? Are you guys running into the same scoring/wheel damage issues that non-CS M4 owners have experienced/discussed?

I don't see why the CCB would be any different on the CS vs the other M3/4.

It's a good thing they kept the CCB optional on the CS IMO

CanAutM3, same! Almost certainly doing steel brakes if I end up going with the CS. Only reason I ask is that the scoring/damage is apparently an inner barrel diameter issue with the wheels - stone chips and other road debris apparently get caught in the shield and drag along the inner barrel of the rim. Wasn't sure if the staggered setup/763M wheels would change anything.

My M4CS has ceramics; has almost 2000miles and no squeaks to report or any other issues.

Mine haven’t sqeaked in 800 miles, they were initially a bit groany when stopping at parking speeds, but I did 2 or 3 very hard stops, and have been perfectly silent for the last 600 miles.

On looks alone I wouldn’t have had a CS without them, they are simply gorgeous brakes, the fact that they peel your face off and leave your wheels spotless is the icing on the cake!

After owning 2 F8x with steel brakes, which I can only describe as noisy, rusty, juddering and extremely dusty.... never again!

Both Daily drivers, why wouldn't they be? Which do you prefer? If you can get a modest deal on a "CS" grab it

For a street only driven car that may see very occasional track use, the CCB can make sense. However, for a regular track goer, they quickly become cost prohibitive to operate. I do ~20 track days a year, I can't justify the yearly $10k~$20k incremental cost in consumables .

You are already compromising getting the M4 w only two doors. Just go the whole hog and get the CS. Life is short. Enjoy.

Oh yes... absolutely right. If I was tracking here’s no way I can justify CCB’s.

I wonder if and when the replacement cost will drop, when the G8x is out and the F8x is an old model with CCB’s I’d expect the cost to drop...

You could always ignore the texts...they don't open unless you manually select them.

Personally i love the feature, way better than texting with my fingers while driving. The only downside is that Siri mixes up words every now and again, but that's Apple, not the CarPlay feature.
