MCS offers their one-way non-remote reservoir (1WNR), two-way non-remote reservoir (2WNR), and two- (2WR), and, three-way (3WR) remote reservoir dampers for the F8x M3/M4.

I'm installing their 2WNR damper with GC 5-bolt camber plates and F/R 450/750 lbf/in springs.

Yeah. Thanks for the link. I already went through the obvious routes for more info.

I want to see specific info on the F8X kits from MCS. Since you've purchased a set, care to share where you got it from and where others can get more information about that specific kit? What dealer did you go through? Are there any retailers selling them from their catalog yet? Etc.

The MCS damper line, similar to Ohlins TTX damper line, is more of a custom build and spec'd based on your particular needs; e.g., street, track, dual-purpose or race setup. I worked with BimmerWorld to spec and assemble my set of MCS 2WNR dampers + GC camber plates for my dual-purpose needs. BW is available to answer all of your questions on suspension options (before and even after purchase) and to help make sure you've selected the right damper and spring rates for your needs.

FYI, spring rates are also listed in N/mm (e.g., Ohlins R&D kits):

lbf/in = 0.2284*25.4 N/mm

kg/mm = 1/9.81 N/mm

Adjustable kit just like the KW HAS and the Dinan, but they come with camber plate, adjustable sway bar end links, and you can choose the spring rate at check out. IMO far superior than KW HAS and Dinan.

I used this kit on my E92 M3 for a few years and had great expeririences with it. Going to use this on my YMB beauty as well.

I think it should be noted that a number of other companies offer custom setups (Moton, BC Racing...etc). Also that while they both may offer custom spec'd stuff the MCS and Ohlins products couldn't be more opposite from each other (monotube vs twintube).

Thanks for your input. I hope you find this thread useful.

When starting this thread, I was careful to choose what information I was going to display. Sure, there are people who are absolute suspension geeks (like me). But there are also people just looking for a list of what's out there. If I don't choose which info to display, the list could turn into an exhaustive post of information.

In regards to putting up information that is specific to each kit, I've tried to just address what I thought would be common inquires (also information that is easy for me to find). I figure that if a person needs/wants more information from that point on, they can do their own research from there.

More often than not, the people who would like to know about monotube vs twintube would also like to know individual spring rates, piston travel, piston thickness, viscosity performance, inverted shocks, 2-way adjustable, 3-way adjustable, true coilover over rears, camber plates, what kind of joints, bearings, thrust sheets, perch on body or preloaded... the list goes on and on. These are most likely the people that would do the research on their own anyways. As much as I'd love to know every detail of each kit, I can't do all the research myself to post.

Some members have been kind enough to post replies with more specific information. I've also tried to link each kit to a thread that discusses that very kit in more detail.

So for the sake of simplicity, I'm just going to keep the OP as a "list" with a little bit of information.

Completely understand, I was simply pointing out that comparing those 2 products isn't ideal as they are fundamentally different in most ways.

Great thread with tons of information!

My point wasn't to compare damper internals - ''TTX' was used to differentiate between Ohlins TTX and R&T lines. Also, I wouldn't compare BC with Moton, JRZ, Ohlins, MCS, etc.

The whole point is whatever I guess, my point was just that it wasn't the most ideal comparison so so much is different between them besides some ordering options.

...and you're right, I would break the brands you just mentioned into 3 groups but i'm sure our opinions of each and their lines vary pretty drastically. Regardless that isn't really a conversation for this thread.
