BEST front license plate solution ever!
I just took delivery of my first M car. M4, black, black full leather, manual. I am in NY and the front plate issue has plagued me for years.
A few things to say. First of all, I have been driving different variants of 911s since 1989 exclusively until I traded in my 2009 Turbo for a 2014 Cayman S. Impressions . . . The Cayman S was my favorite Porsche. It was awesome. Go figure. That said, once I test drove the M4, I was sold. After 3 days with the car, It has blown me away. My favorite car ever, bar none. And from a value perspective, it's an incredible bargain. But now, back to the topic at hand, the front plate. I refuse to drill, and I have tried everything from tow hook mounts to the Skene mount (not bad at all) on my previous Porsches. Sto N Sho is hands down the GREATEST solution. ZERO drilling and totally solid (I chose the lower mount option, as there are 2). The plate can be installed or removed in under 3 seconds. I actually went back to the dealership this morning to show the techs. They were BLOWN AWAY. Sorry no pics I am old and busy, but I needed to pass this along. I am new to the forum, new to the M family, so i just wanted to help out. Mods already are IND painted side markers and 35% tint all around. That will GROW! Love this car. Happy to be here! |

Hello bpost. Here's another product I am using that I'm very pleased with. It's called the Sto N Sho. The benefits of this front license plate mount vs others is it's ease of use. It literally takes 2 seconds to take the plate on and off.
The criteria I had for the solution.
A couple of notations.
Here are some pics and a video of the product. |

I spoke the the "vendor" about the same thing. Under normal conditions a non issue. Just pop it off if we want to have a track day. Plenty of air still getting in there. It makes sense.

These things have been around for roughly 10 years. They have motorized ones too.

These things have not been around for 10 years btw. Totally different and inferior system, both the manual and mechanized version. That mount slides the plate under the car. This one comes off totally.

My statement was only referring to these not being new. Why are you getting so offended by everything said in here.

Those who like this mount can benefit and those who don't won't. I have a Skene mount and like it, but this design seems good.

However, our parking enforcement people also give parking tickets for no front plate; some times it's really expensive. So I mainly use it for when I have to street park. |

Its hit or miss here in NYC. Some cops are real dicks about it and act like you murdered someone when they pull you over. Im like relax, its ugly and I dont like it. They get so caught off guard its great. Then hand em my PBA card and am on my way lolol For the record I dont have reg or inspection sticker in the window either. I actually havent gotten an inspection in over 5 years.
