I thought it was established a long time ago that the next gen M3/M4 will have a straight 6 (I6) and not a V6...

yes!! thanks for the pics, I6 sounds like the only logical thing to do anyways
did bmw ever have a v6? in the ring vids it almost sounds like a rally car, but im pretty sure they'll tune it before release eh?

V6 layout comes F1 only marketing reasons (this bull shit seems to work...). Its logical thing, engine manufactures Honda, Renault, Mclaren or Ferrari not want market Inline 4, because they might use V6 on their next generation super cars. I am read somewhere that I4 is actually best layout to turbocharged F1 car. BMW also use I4 engine on turbo era F1 cars and Cosworth try to use too, but they cannot make enough strength block and change layout to V6.
