You need to get it updated to the latest available version. Either by yourself or by using our services.

After I installed your Firmware for full screen apple carplay, I can't connect to the headunit via Bimmerlink anymore. Is there a way to get bimmerlink to work again or is there a way to revert it back before I flashed with your firmware?

You need to restore OEM state, then you will be able to use Bimmercode/Bimmerlink.

Best way is to contact Your vendor. If it was ENET activation you should have option restore to OEM. If it was USB Activation then you will need to reflash your headunit.

I finally found enough bravery and followed your directions to update the headunit software with esys. Wasn't as difficult as I feared the instructions were clear. THe only problem I ran into was to code fullscreen carplay with esys, I can't find the value to enable full screen. So I switched to Bimmercode to do it.

Is a dedicated battery maintainer required or a standard battery charger will suffice for the flashing new firmware?

At least 8-10 AMPS would be useful.

We are proud to announce that you can now enable FULLSCREEN CARPLAY on your own for FREE without 3rd Party Sellers / Custom Patching Method.

Requirement: Your vehicle must be updated to the latest firmware (NBT_EVO_X)

Simply use Esys, or BimmerCode / Carly

READ HU_NBT2 and search for CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN

Set to Aktiv

Thats it!

Enjoy!

Hope this helps
I was going through BimmerCode and I don't see the option to turn my CarPlay fullscreen. 2018 M4

noticed this is enabled on new models from factory, as they have the latest idrive.

in carplay you can click options and see the split screen button checked, but you can't change it. super strange. does this coding open up that option or does it just force the setting?

Am I reading it correctly…

Do you lose the ability to toggle between different CarPlay screens when full screen is enabled?
