F8x vs Audi RS6 – what would it take?
Hey Buds –
I'm curious about anyone who has decent experience launching / drag racing their 6MT F8x car, and what it takes to run in the 11 - 11.5 range. I'm thinking about some kind of a YouTube matchup against an RS6 once my wagon is built, and want to make sure i give it a solid run. My hunch is i'll need at least 620 crank HP (since my car will be at least 700lbs lighter) and lots of practice with sticky tires to get a good launch. I'd love people's advice / experiences! ~David

I see you have a manual so not sure how well it translates but this stock DCT on 103 oct runs a 11.66 You could probably do fine with a simple tune. |

Very impressive for a stock car, albeit on a prepped surface, but with MPSS !!

FBO E85 you can take him. but you'll need a sticky tire and prepped surface. i think swiftym3 in that thread has the stock turbo 6mt record... 11.00 at 130mph. on an unprepped surface it may be difficult. roll race you would definitely get him.

Stage 2 tuning and bolt-ons should do it.

!!!Unplanned update to this thread!!!
I've been out in Mammoth, CA for a few days with the "Avantoberfest" event (a driving, dining, fun hangs event for wagon & hatchback nerds). There were 3 RS6s here, and of course, i was both geeked and eager to see how they compare against each other at differing tunes, and against my M3 Wagon. So, out on a very deserted stretch of interstate I had a chance to do about a 50-roll. MUCH to my surprise, I was slowly but steadily walking away both times we pulled. I was certain that the driver was only giving partial throttle, or something like that, because I think of RS6s as having such bonkers performance, but perhaps i've been under-estimating or undervaluing just how capable these S55 engines are, even with "only" a BM3 stage 1 tune and exhaust. I was giddy, still am. So fun. Afterwards, the driver was also really excited, and asked me... "So just how fast IS THIS THING"? You were pulling on me the whole run. I could only shrug my shoulders and tell them what the tune says i'm supposed to be putting down, and that "the car has only been running for like a month, so i have no idea"!!! Their car: RS6 w/ Stg1 software, and Akrapovic exhaust. Unsure about downpipes. (The white one in the photo) The wrapped one is at like 900hp and would have eaten me alive My car: M3 w/ BM3 Stg 1, AFE Intakes, catless downpipes, AWE exhaust

yeah thats the thing with most of these 4000 lbs+ super sedans. the reviews say they are fast, but in reality they are just *fast for their weight*. I just looked up car and drivers review of the CT5 blackwing. 700hp so you'd think it'd be insane. only runs an 11.6 in the 1/4. same as that stock M4 posted above on race gas. (granted we are compared manual vs dct.. but the caddy has no lift shift and more tire).
