I have a stock motor with my only engine mod being an AWE switchpath exhaust. If my stock turbos failed and I were to replace it with the pure turbos, would that be advisable? I plan on modding my engine but not til later so best to start with the biggest mod first. Are the pure turbos more robust than the stock oem turbos? Can you run them using the oem tune?

if your stock turbos fail, i don’t think pure turbos can take your failed stock turbos and mill out a bigger compressor wheel in your stock housing or whatever it is that they do

Yea I’m Not worried about my failed turbos, just if I were to buy the pure turbos outright.

Haha they didn’t. I was saying “should” they fail and rather than just buy another set of oem turbos, what if I bought the pure ones instead. At least that way if I were to tune my car later, I’d already have upgraded turbos.

Can't run on OEM tune, also main question is the power delivery.

There's OEM like spool and there's hi-flow that holds boost to red line

I can't believe all the times I've jokingly said someone's turbos blew, and it actually happened

Like Auto Talent said its not advisable to run a stock tune with upgraded turbos.
But if your turbos do fail and you decide to upgrade them we can use them still blown up or not. Very rarely are S55 turbos blown up so bad we can't use the housings.
