Rear wheel acceleration sensors!

Hello all,

I’m hoping someone can help on the dreaded Chassis Function Restricted.

I know there are a few topics on it but I need some expert advice before I go ahead with the repair.

So I got the following codes:

Wheel acceleration sensor rear right - sensor 3 - learning - zero point not learnt
Wheel acceleration sensor rear right - sensor 4 - learning - zero point not learnt

So the car is at the dealership and they are saying the actual sensor is part of the damper, and the whole damper need to be replace because they do not sell the sensor itself.

Before I go ahead with the repair as both my dampers are perfect I would like suggestions.

Could it not be the wheel acceleration cable itself other than the sensor?

Realoem shows the front sensors can be bought, are the front and rear sensors the same?

Really need help from anyone that can guide me on this.

Get your car to another dealer. The sensor is not part of the damper.
Probably faulty sensor or cable.

This is exactly what I thought but even looking at realoem where number 10 (cable) plugs in on the shock and it doesn’t show an option for the sensor part number?

See images attached.

I’m pretty sure the front and rear sensors are identical. Try swapping the front and rear sensors and see if the chassis stabilization fault follows the sensors to the front of the vehicle or not.

Will give this a go, if the front fit this might solve my issue.

Yes that’s the one, just hoping the front fits will save me tons of $ as replacing both dampers just for sensors are crazy

Nothing yet… fetch the car by the dealer and plan to take it to a Indy in the week. We tried recalibrating but still shows ride height out.

The ride height is determined by a different sensor attached to the lower control arm.

Yeah, so we measured and entered the correct details but still throwing wheel acceleration sensor.

What I still don’t get is both sensors failed, 1 sensor I would’ve understand.

Just update thought I’d like to share that might help.

Issue is 90% fixed.
  1. Rear sensors replaced
  2. Calibrated ICM, EDC ride height
  3. New cables

Right so all the above failed and the sensors still wasn’t picking up.

So had someone code the EDC Temic back to stock ZCP and this was finally a success, the sensors picked up and the calibration was successful.

However now the chasis retricted fault is still coming up. Ista EDC tree is green no codes.

I can’t select modes while driving, however when before starting up the car I can select and when I choose comfort it seems like the dampering is soft.

I suspect I have shock that isn’t dampering correctly, my question is will a failed shock bring up a chassis restricted error?

It’s bit tough now with no codes in Ista.
