2018 M3 sudden jerking like transmission slipping...

check engine light comes one and goes into limp mode. Car was noticeably shaking as I drove it lightly. Stopped and let it sit while at work and it was fine after work, no check engine, no issues.

I drove it for a month or so and it happened again, now check engine light did not go away.

Does anyone know what this is? Also to note, I have not been driving the car hard at ALL. Not even going into sport mode for months.

Dropping off tomorrow at the dealership.

a bunch of people could guess at this but if your car is going in tomorrow you will know... tomorrow
