The longest my F80 ever sat was about five weeks when I was sick in bed thinking that was it for me. I too work from home and I get it out two to four times a week.

Longest I’ve let it sit was 9weeks or so with no tender connected. Fired right up without a hiccup. Usually drive it 2-3x a week on avg.

I hear you my friend! I just installed new low dust brake pads, detailed the interior and I am waiting for a half-way sunny day to wash the outside. This rain that SoCal is getting is limiting my fun driving on weekends.

I just picked up a Ctek lithium charger and put it on the car to see where the battery was sitting after all these weeks in the garage. It did a great job getting the battery back up to speed. I cannot wait for a nice sunny day to go put some fun miles on the beast.

Have a good one, be safe out there Papasmurf.

That's good to hear! I just went up for a drive to palomar mountain. Amazing back roads if you haven't checked it out yet and you're from SD I encourage you to check it out. I tore through the windy roads like a beast lol 😂

Give the car a wash and get out there Morgan!

Jeezus bro, 5 weeks is intense! What kept you in bed that long? Anyways glad to hear you're alright!

4 times is a lot actually. I'm lucky to get the f80 out once or twice a week

Parked my M4 on the first of November and took it out today. It runs great, but I think I'll get one of those battery saving devices installed for next winter. I did get a message about the battery but it went away after some time on the road.

Wow that's an impressive sit!
Definitely look into a Ctek. I finally drove mine today after 16 days of sitting hooked up. The engine crank was extremely quick.

You have the same combo as me a 997.1 + F83.
I have silver and YMB.

I regularly leave the M4 for about 6 weeks parked - no issues so far.

Back when the world was normal... usually sat there M-F (subway to work). Now it's on week 3 of being idle. Might be time for a ctek

I drive it to work on Fridays if it is not wet out. The. Usually I do a back round run for an hour or so once a week. I need to drive this damn car more. But I love the comfort of my truck for daily driving. I guess I am getting old.

Picked mine up in June and winter stored it first week of October.
Odometer was 2999mi.
- CTEK hooked up entire time
- PSI over-inflated to 37 (car read tire PSI 33-34 when I started it back up mid-March)
- other winter related storage stuff

Car starts up with no problems the last month I've been driving. CTEK is great to make sure you get the most life out of that expensive-ass battery when you're storing the car for awhile. Only PITA is having to cringe-ly slam the hood to make sure both sides of the hood latch.

Cars are meant to be driven. While the M cars are nice cars, there is nothing special or rare about them that would make you think you should not drive it. They are not rare. They will never appreciate. It is not a classic. It certainly is not an investment. You paid for it, you pay taxes on it, you pay insurance on it. DRIVE IT! Seriously, life is too short to look at your car in the garage. What are you saving it for?

These are daily drivers. Really nice daily drivers, but simply meant to use. Nothing wrong with having a jeep or suv for real winter (think snow) use, but seriously, drive the car before some day you look back and regret that you didn't.

How long do you let your F8X sit?

I don't daily my mine since I got a CRV which is more gas efficient so it sits for about a week then I switch it back and drive it for a few days.

I can agree with some of your sentiments. Future classic or not I'm not sure nor am I sure this model will ever appreciate in value. It may...depending on the looks and popularity of the new M coming. I enjoy having multiple vehicles...they all serve a different purpose. It has nothing to do with money...insurance is cheap...especially when it's in 'comp' storage mode 7 months out of the year.

To each their own...we are all in different positions and different circumstances. I've always owned multiple vehicles at a time and will continue to own multiple vehicles at a time as motoring is just one of my many hobby's.

Daily driving isn't driving for me... it's more like crawling along in bumper to bumper traffic for up to
an hour and 20 minutes twice a day. It's just not fun. I save the M3 CS for weekends and track days!
