I was fishing to see if someone was giving up a $600/mo deal and was pretty floored by that price TBH Edit: I love that one of your cars was a Pole Star. must have been a epic 'ride' |

Thanks for the insight gents, I appreciate the varying perspectives. Just to clarify, this isn't a CS issue but more of a winter / obsessive compulsive issue on my part... the CS is absolutely amazing. I just cannot get over potential salt damage to the car, lease or not. Maybe I need help 🤷😂

I had a 2015 GTI before I got my 2016 F80... I'm definitely picking up another MK7 GTI as a daily; car is an absolute blast... light, quick and nimble... |

Two things:
1. Drive an x3 m40. I've test driven both an x3m and an x3 m40 extensively and I swear the m40 is a superior vehicle for DD usage. It's better balanced, the engine/trans is better matched, and it's a better value. The outright acceleration is obviously less, but it's not that noticeable and the rest of the car makes up for it with a substantial saving. 2. I've DD my f80 m3 for 5.5 years in PA with winter tires (not snow tires) and it's been an amazing vehicle. It is superior, for example, to my wife's honda odyssey minivan with all-season tires - what I would consider a fairly standard PA year round car. |

As for doberzus, at least he's scoring with his TSLA stock to make up for that X3MC deal In reference to my Polestar...guys over on SwedeSpeed thought I was nuts, bc that was one of the shortest car ownership of all time...weeks! Wifey missed the size of her X5d with our GSD It was good while it lasted..the car, not the wifey https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=35 https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...=kief+polestar

However, I would add that the sentiment of "keeping the car nice for the next owner" is applicable to financing or buying a car outright. The same type of criticism is applicable to the lessees who garage their cars, add paint protection film, hand wash the car, etc. At the end of the day, a car enthusiast is a car enthusiast who often times throws $$ out the window for the sake of what makes them happy. I would also add that characterizing not driving an M3 during the winter as half of the contract period is a bit of an exaggeration.

Canaut’s pic is the way to go for f8x, in my opinion. Edit: Joe’s thought about x340 makes a lot of sense to me, and if OP where to get a 2 seats sports car + x340 it might come out to similar overall cost as m3cs Last edited by nicknaz; 02-05-2020 at 09:54 AM.. |

My M4 lease ends in June and if these deals are still around by then, I'll consider it as well. I wasn't planning on looking at the X3 M but these deals are too good to pass up.

Where are you guys seeing $6xx lease deals for the x3m? Are these just bait and switch teasers? I have not seen anyone get that low of a deal, especially for an $80k+ msrp.

In that application (the x3) the difference between the b58 and the s58 engine is somehow muted. The transmission is practically the same. The steering feel is not that different. I'd argue the suspension in the x3 m40 is better for actual roads. Etc. Don't get me wrong, on paper I like the x3m more. But I spent 2-3 days driving a loaner x3 m40i and really enjoyed it as a $60k car. I spent an hour test driving an x3m and didn't enjoy it as much as the x3 m40i and definitely not $20k more. Which is weird to me, but there it is.

You do realize despite being down 20% in one day Tesla stock has still gone from $430/share to $742/share in....~25 trading days.
It being down 20% in a day isn't exactly "the story" here....

Fellow M3cs driver here, so be prepared for some bias. That said, the CS is a really special car, special enough that I would not even consider trading it for an x3m (a damn good car in its own right).
If you're dead set on trading it in, get something crazy, something rare. Surprise us.

I’m glad OP is thinking about X3m because I saw x4m on the road today and it was really bad looking.
It’s like bmw took an m2, stretched it vertically and lifted it. Yikes. |
