Tiny windsheild chips

Should I be concerned of small nicks this size turning into a crack? Also my insurance deductible is the same cost as a new windshield

Those wont turn into anything, but the more of them you get the more annoying it is to see out your windshield when driving into the sun.
If they bug you enough that you want a new windshield, but $1000 isn’t worth it to you, then consider an aftermarket from Pilkington. Same exact glass as BMW OEM, just not stamped with BMW insignia, and for 1/4 the price.

Not in my visibility at all, was just worried about it ruining the glass. Thanks for the reply

Will not ruin glass. However, are you sure all are chips? You may be surprised how much of it cleans up by using some glass polish on it (or having a good detailer do it).

Rain-X 600001 Windshield Repair Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IPS4APU..._iwWrEbKWTHF4E

You can get something like this to fill in the chips. One kit could probably do quite a few since they aren't large.

Theres only 2 nicks in the pic, the rest is just debris or something. I'll definitely give it a shot tho, thanks!

Soft glass on these cars...unfortunately part of the experience. I think a good glass cleaner and polish will help a lot by filing in some of the small blemishes.

Yes, BMW has long had a history of "soft glass" which pits and chips easily. We had my wife's former 2011 335is at a track day at Chuckwalla several years ago and a freak sandstorm hit and it left her windshield severely scratched and pitted. It was really tough driving into a low sun after that. My 2016 M4 has a lot of pits and chips, and being retired, I've only driven it a few times a week. Not much you can do about it.

My 2019 BMW M4 daily driven with 11,900 miles have lots of chips and pits in the front windshield. I regret not getting Clearplex which is clear bra for the front windshield.

Didnt even know that was a thing! Luckily the previous owner of my car decided to clear bra the entire car besides the windshield lol

yeah bmw windshields aren't the greatest

I drive 20k miles a year back and forth to work on the highway. My F30 335 went through 2 windshields in 30k miles. My honda civic.. 50k miles on the same route and only one small chip that needed repair and far less pitting

27k and my windshield is trash. Going in for replacement soon.
I see friend's cars with way more mileage, and significantly less pitting.

I'm starting to have the same issue. Super small pits in my windshield. I'm thinking of putting exoshield on

Do it now before your issue compounds. I will likely be getting glass protection straight away after replacement.
