Well I do my ED in May, and i'm going somewhat topsy-turvy on this one.
In my head and heart I know that the 2015 is way more than I need, and that I should just be completely happy with it. And I know I *would* be happy with it, btw. Yet, there is this little voice bugging the hell out of me........

I expect cars to have improvements on a regular basis. Mid cycle changes are very, very common for many manufacturers and BMW is included. If you are always chasing the "best" version then you will always be chasing something new. Don't get me wrong, I really do understand wanting the ZCP option but if it was a deal breaker for me, I would have waited. I'm not sure how it would be better for you if it came out in 2 more years? Option #1 - You ultimately wanted a ZCP car and you would have owned the 2015 M for 3 years and then sold it to buy a ZCP car if things progressed as you had thought. Option #2 - They release ZCP tomorrow, you still own the M for 3 years, sell it and buy a ZCP. The only difference is that there will be ZCP cars on the road in the interim. Put another way, if you were OK with ZCP being released in 2018 and might have bought one then, what changes? You can still buy one then. If you were likely weren't going to sell your 2015 and buy a ZCP car in 3 years, why would it matter now? I'm probably over simplifying but my sense is it won't be as significant of a change as you expect for DD duty and really only matters to those tracking their cars at 9/10ths often. Even then, we aren't sure it will matter a lot. Having said all of that... I do understand being frustrated and now wishing you waited. I'm just surprised by the severity of your reaction.

But anyway I think most care about the look of the comp pack not the actual performance. Regardless of how you view that it's their cash. You'll never get a better ride than factory suspension and the ZCP offers factory lowering with updated OEM wheels. |

I love my car, I'm happy I have it. At the end of the day, If I can simply retrofit the parts or mod the car how I want..its all good. |

No but very strong speculation based on insider comments.

I'd say this could indeed be a ZCP test vehicle. At the very least it tells us they are testing something new with no exterior changes (wheels can always change for production). And, I'll point out that it has the Werkstestwagen sticker, just like I figured it would. |
