I’m in the UK hence you just need to look on eBay as sellers will post the rear picture which shows manufacturer

The link to my log in my previous post has that info, along with the PN I used when I did it back in 2019.

Was plug and play with bimmertech adaptor 😅
I see that you have full leather. Did you have any fitment problems with the leather on the dash? Thanks.

No perfect fit no issues there but would state to be careful when fitting as can scratch the leather.

Thanks very much for the quick response. I think I'm going for this upgrade! Found a used G3x display (manufactured by LG, same part number as yours) for a fraction of the price of a new one.

Unless I am reading the last 2 pages of this thread incorrectly, the G3x display you are buying does not have the extended rear cover to the base that WhiteFox has on his pictured unit as FaRKle! needed to constructed something (twice now apparently).

I doubt they are selling the retrofitted base cover as a seperate part either.

You might be aware of this but just want to make sure that some reader isn’t aware.

You are correct. Bimmer Tech makes an adapter specifically for this purpose (which is more expensive than the display itself, if you can believe it!).

Exactly correct have to buy the base which is eye wateringly expensive. They also sell the screen for 1k US which is I was told by them was a used screen! Both really outrageous pricing as you can buy screen for 200. I ended up buying the adapter as the F screen is a bit more than 200 and didn’t like the silver element or shape. Also think the brightness and crispness is better with the g series screen if the LG version.

Yes it’s 300 USD but fit is perfect and matches the color of the G series screen so OEM+

I really like the look of the G30 screen and I think I’ll get one

My only concern is with look out of proportion to F82 dash

But is it just a matter of getting used to it?

Will you post some pictures of the G8x display installed with the adapter? Thanks!

I’m so tempted to do this.

Found this LG screen.

It appears to be a symmetrical shape though

I think it’s more like the current screen shape and hopefully will look ok.

Looks awesome! Do you think the size difference is noticeable compared to the 8.8” display?

I can see now how much closer the 12 inch screen will sit.

I think it’ll be great and I’ve found a LG g30 screen on EBay

Once installed is the coding tricky?
