Confirm M4 Comp Tune in Software

Hi,

I had an issue with a leaky injector on my 2018 M4 Comp, and had the car serviced. After I got the car back and drove it for a couple of weeks the car seems less aggressive, i don't get as much wheel spin, engine and exhaust is quieter, and throttle slightly less responsive. I typically drive it in sport plus and MDM off with DSC. This usually makes the car louder, and a bit more slippery. in fact makes the the throttle very twitchy, its easy to spin up the tires, or loose a bit of grip when applying throttle in a straight line. Much more more fun. Even my buddy in the passenger seat noted the difference.

It feels like they updated the software and didn't include the tune for comp package.

The service report doesn't mention any software updates as part of the service. It does mention reseting the adaption values. any idea, if reseting adaption values could have change the map.

Maybe its all in my head. I had a similar software issue with the 335, and the waste gate fix. they updated the software, and suddenly the cars response was completely different. went back and the changed setting in even newer software, and the car was back to normal response I had grown use to. this was a big fiasco for BMW at the time.

Is there anyway for me to confirm the ECU is using the M4 comp map.

Regards,

Frank

If it was done at a dealer, ISTA doesn't have the ability to load software other than what came from the factory.

Resetting adaptations will take away that peak power since the DME is re-learning. Give each individual gear a run up and down....first easy revs...then progressively harder. Like this:
123456easy...
12345medium...
123456hard...

This helps re-teach the DME.

gave it a couple of months and no change. The driving dynamics definitely changed. Taking it back to the dealership.

Is it possible you had an aftermarket tune and didn't know it? I bought my M4 from a dealership as a certified pre-owned vehicle but I later found out that it had a tune.
