DNA brand drop-in air filter (dry)...any experience with them?

I know there's ton of debate about paper/OEM-style vs "performance"-style filters (K&N, BMC, etc) so I don't mean for this to discussion to devolve into an argument about pros and cons for either. I'm really just interested to know if anyone has experience with this DNA filter in an F80. I was surprised to find literally zero results from a search here.

According to their website, DNA is a Greek company, and they seem to have a decent presence in the motorcycle world including bikes like BMW, Ducati, Honda CBR, etc. To me, even if it's not a typical BMW/Audi/Merc supplier, this is much more promising than some generic Chinese knock-off brand.

According to the Amazon description, it's a dry filter (like AFE) so there's no risk of MAF issues like we potentially get from the oiled versions (like K&N)...except these filters are literally 90% cheaper than AFE ($25 vs $225)! So, for the price of OE/paper filters, I don't see a reason to not try them out...unless someone here can report back with a personal horror story about them.

Are you sure the Amazon one is legit? DNA's own website shows them at $161. For $25 I'm sure you can give them a shot and not be out a ton of money but it seems sketchy to me

I dunno, man, but the the Amazon vendor is listed as "DNA motoring store" so that's presumably coming from the manufacturer or at least an authorized seller. Hell, maybe it's a computer glitch or mistake and they'll quadruple in price in the next 5 minutes! Just in case that's what's happening, I'm gonna go ahead and buy them. They're also listed as Prime so free shipping and returns. Nothing to lose!

Yep. As far as I can tell, they're great. Build quality was spot on. Other than being dry, they looked very similar to K&N filters I've had in the past for other cars. Very sturdy and well-constructed, etc. Fitment was perfect too. They dropped right in with no issues. Unless I hear otherwise, for under $30 I can't imagine why anyone would get anything else!

I dropped in the DNA's today. So far so good! Perfect fitment. Quality seems legit and took out the charcoal ones.
