Yeah, I didn't recall a lot of mystery or intrigue there either. I think there was even an age in one of the stories. (Edit: yeah. He was 20. Couldn't even drink in USA)

Exactly.

....I still laugh when I read that story....maybe I am just an awful person (who, as was pointed out, was NOT in the passenger seat that day)

My point is, if you don't speed through corners with these cars, you should hand over your keys. Kid made a mistake, we've all made mistakes. No need to call him stupid or make a judgement on his character based off of one snippet of information that you have received about his life.

If you drive around corners in the middle of a city like that kid did (ie with enough speed and/or turning off nanny controls on a one-day-old-car that you don't know so that you wrap yourself around a tree), it is pretty clear to me who should be turning over their keys.

Its all good to say it is a "mistake", but look at what happened to the car. There was a LOT of force involved. People (innocent people) get hurt and killed when people do things like that. It may have been a 'mistake' but it was an idiotic one and the kid gets to be called an idiot for doing it.

Example: the gal who ran a red light and hit @Tonymiabmw the other night? Yeah, probably a mistake. But an idiotic one and she deserves to be called an idiot for doing it.

I've done idiotic things and every time I will man up and say I am or was an idiot for doing so.

...I really don't think you can defend this kid beyond that.
