Sorry for bumping an old post, its the only one with 458 and RS7 i could find on google lol, and of course it is Vic.

Vic, if you don't mind me asking, via butt dyno alone which do you think is faster? Your 458 or your (now gone I'm assuming) RS7?

As does BMW. I have traction issues in my lowly F80, pretty sure the M6 will have worse. He probably had the traction on and lost power when it broke traction or something like that. Something we can't really see from a video.

Yup. My choice should I have $120K to spend on a super fast sedan. Looks better than it's competition even after 4 years on the market.

Normally I would have jumped and said there is no way this happened. However, my real good friend has a 2015 GTR and last weekend we did multiple races from digs and various rolls (we are both bone stock). From a roll it was dead even (30-45mph pulls). Now from a stop i was WAY more surprised, I actually was able to hold pretty well, I spun bad in 1st and he used launch control, once I hooked I stayed right with his back bumper and didn't budge probably up to 120-130mph

I was shocked I could hold this well, and am very curious as to how the M would do with drag radials.

Anything can happen on the street in a real world scenario. Now on paper, that's a different story. His GTR had 2 people in it (that combined are probably 350-375lbs) and he also had a full tank of gas. I was very low on gas and only had myself which weighs 180lbs. So I do not doubt the OP's experience at all.

I am really curious to get my car dyno'd, because I also raced a stock m6 from a roll and beat it by 1/2 a car. My car FEELS faster than my 600hp Cobra.

I think you raced an A7 with RS7 badge from eBay !

There is no way a real RS7 (or one that has intention to race you) will be neck and neck.

Yes I am 100% stock

I confirmed with him last night, that they had about 100 more lbs in the seats and a full tank of fuel. I was almost on empty.

I completely agree. I sold my 04 cobra that was ported and laid down 515 at the wheels. This m4 does not feel much slower. Its surprisingly quick for being under powered. I still think my 04 would have won from a roll, but I don't think the m4 would have been too far behind.

Hmm. Maybe I was in the wrong gear but I got ROCKED by an RS7 on a highway onramp and he never looked back. He must have hit about 140 before shutting down I was like WHOA YEAAA BUDDYYY GO GET YOURSELF THAT SPEEDING TICKET.

I just saw this so apologies. I guess my post reply warning is not working.

Well both cars are now gone but the RS7 tuned, felt faster from a dig or lets say easier to launch and rip up to 130 mph. The 458, via a roll, felt faster with its lighter weight and rwd vs power sucking AWD Quattro. I would guess a quarter mile race would be very close with both cars in the lower 11's but maybe the RS7. A 60-130 race would probably favor the 458 but with a tune, the RS7 is scary good.

to compare an rs7 to an m3 is just kind of stupid honestly. clearly this guy doesn't know how to drive. i drove my bosses 2014 a7 the other day, and wow that thing goes, handles great, and has a nice sound to it. the rs7 is the king of sedans until mercedes releases the newly designed e63 amg and puts that s-type on it. now that thing will be a monster and should reclaim itself as the four door sedan to beat
