I feel like what you need is a 2017 ZCP with Black/Black combination and 10k miles of gentle use plus cash to make up the difference. That way you can really enjoy the car since you won't mess it up and I can have this one.

You don't have to cover the whole car in PPF. You can start with the major impact areas (front bumper, half the hood, rocker panels, wheel arches). It cost me about $1800 to do the M3, but I had a lot of smaller pieces put in.

Even if the issue were money, you'd still feel the same worry, IMHO. It's just how we are. It's more to do with keeping it original and untouched and undamaged. That would just piss me off. Especially the time and effort to keep it clean. Not the money, because insurance will cover it.

For example, my Lotus was hit twice. Once from an idiot in a Merc ML that didn't see me right next to him coming to a stop at a traffic light. I was damn lucky that he hit my rear wheel. Only thing was tiny curb rash on the outer edge of the wheel that was fixed with air brush. Unfortunately, the finish didn't quite match due to the flake. Only I would notice in strong sunlight up close. I made the mistake of letting the guy do the whole lip instead of just the spots. That would have looked virtually unnoticeable.

Next was me backing into a pipe against a wall that took a pinky nail size piece of the clearcoat. For a long time I ran a piece of tape on it to prevent dirt from getting in until I figured out what to do. I took to Galpin Auto Sports and they said use touch up paint! Really? So, I called one of these mobile paint guys that was highly recommended. This dude sanded a section like 100 times the size of the damage. I should have asked what and how he was going to fix it. I was pissed because after he was done, the paint/clear didn't match and looked cloudy. It wasn't after a while that it got better, but I can still see it. Also there's a sharp crease right above the damage that he sanded, but failed to keep the line sharp. If you look close you will see. It's fucking unbelievable and pisses me off every time [I see it]. The only reason I hit it was I had a new ACT clutch and light flywheel installed and you could not feather the clutch. Basically on/off. So the shop guy is helping me back out and doesn't tell me you're close to the wall so with a quick jab of the throttle I smack the pipe. The hit was hard enough where I thought I'd cracked the rear fiberglass clam. If that happened I was going to sell the car because I had gone through a lot of bullshit with the tuning and modding. Very frustrated at that time. The carbon diffuser was damaged, the exhaust tip smacked, but hammered back round. I wrote to show that things will happen even if you are super careful, etc. A lot of things are out of your control. When I think about all that happened, if I took a few simple steps or asked questions, I would have avoided pretty much all that happened. But such is life.

If you have nice cars, there will always be stress. This is what I'm saying. The only way we won't is if we buy a shitbox and leave it stock. lol
The shitbox might be the best choice for me, unfortunately . I can take it anywhere, don't need to wash it, no worry of rock chips, dings, etc. Of course it's no fun to drive or look at, but it's the battle between ownership stress and the fun factor that determines the best course of action, and maybe for me it is best that I at least for now just go with budget ownership and if I get to a point where I can write a check for a car like this and not think twice about the missing money, then do it. I think in my case the stress I deal with in trying to keep the car pristine would greatly decline if the money invested were a smaller portion of my net worth.

It is not possible to capture Atlantis on my camera properly, as it looks different in person. As I look at the picture on my phone and shift my eye up to the actual car, the photo is nowhere near as impressive as the real thing. It is stunning in the flesh and a different shade of blue than my pictures capture. dubsesd has done the best job of catching the color in his photos, but he does some post production I believe as the camera alone doesn't deliver for Atlantis.

Don't resist, as it's even much better in person . I parked at a store to do some work the other day and was looking at the car through the window. Some guy and his girlfriend were walking around the car taking pictures of every angle, looking inside, etc. Then, when I came outside to leave, a car stopped right in front of my parked M3 before I got there, and a guy jumped out and started to do the same thing, taking photos from all angles. This has happened numerous times (including while driving) and the car has barely left my garage. Really amazing how this color makes an already fantastic looking car appear exotic. Every time I go into the garage I almost change my mind about selling, and that never once happened with my last M3.

PPF, ceramic coat, and just drive the fucking thing, man! I am OCD too, but cars like this are meant to be enjoyed. But whatever, you do you. Hope it goes to good hands.

I agree . I actually convinced someone in California who was going to buy my LSB M3 (it had already sold) to order an Atlantis instead of continuing his search for a used LSB M3 and he is beyond thrilled. In fact he texted me last night and told me that someone saw his car and liked it so much that he wanted my VIN number as he may want to purchase. The color is awesome.

Where do you live? I convinced someone in California to order the same car and he is in love with it. If he's anywhere near you then you can see his. I think he lives in San Luis Obispo CA.

damn. had no idea you could get atlantis accent trim, I totally would've done that with mine. Sick build, I think you should keep it and drive the crap out of it after you put some PPF on it ;D

Wtf, Francesco?? Wtf wtf wtf wtf man!

Feels like it was yesterday we were meeting up for you to check out the Atlantis colour in person, and now you're giving up the car you were looking so forward to

I can understand the OCD and what not, but just put some more miles on her and enjoy it at least until it's sold. 600 miles vs. 2-3k miles makes virtually no difference in this market.. might as well enjoy it.

To prospective buyers: Francesco is a lovely guy and I've met up with him multiple times. We've had long chats about our cars on lazy Tuesday afternoons with cameras in our hands to snap pics of his LSB M3 and my old Atlantis M3 I hope this car goes to a fellow enthusiast if it does sell.

Good luck brother!
