Still no creaks for me after about 2 months of just simply tightening bolt 5 from the diagram above. Thanks again for the post!

It probably was not torqued correctly upon install.... since it is cast alumn I usually torque all then go back and re-torque before putting on ground

so i think i'm having this issue as well. had MP HAS installed with millway camber plates 2 months ago, 2000 miles in i heard this noise. it happens when driving, it sounds like cricket chirping, creaking, squeeking kinda noise. it happens when the car bounces or hits bumps, smaller bumps more pronounced. is this what you guys are hearing also? yes the strut was loosened a few times to get the insulator boot seated properly after the first install, etc. and alignment, etc. it's coming from driver side front, not rear or other side.

Hmm this clicking noise is usually when you're at stop and turning the wheel. Yours may be another issue. The steering knuckle tightening is another frequent source of noise but for me the sound was more of the suspension sounding loose as if a part wasn't tight more than a chirp.

I've been down this rabbit hole for some time now. I had a clicking noise at low speed near full steering lock and after trying multiple things, I think replacing and tightening the strut collar bolt did the trick.

But!! After a week, now I have a creaking sound coming from the same front driver side. Sounds like a creaky door when I'm at a stop or very low speed, turning the wheel slightly from side to side.

Where I think I might be making a mistake is lining up the boot and spring underneath the top strut mount, where the boot meets the underside always seems to be slightly off center. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or have any tips on getting it lined up correctly?

Instead of dropping the strut assembly I'm going to attempt to remove the strut mount this weekend to see if that makes it easier to align the spring and dust boot which I think is the cause of the noise and a couple torn dust boots.

Still looking for anyone who can advise on how the spring and boot should be seated on the top mount.

Just an update on this thread. My suspension was making the same clicking noise as reported by numerous users. I solved it by loosening the bolt 5 and retightening it again past 60lbs. My car's suspension has been noise free ever since!

Glad to hear this worked for another member. The clicking was driving me crazy and its such an easy fix.

You should give it a shot as it's by far the easiest fix. Be sure to preload your suspension though before undertaking this task. I had to use a second jack to lift the suspension.

Probably a good idea but literally all I did was remove the wheel and tighten the bolt by hand and that solved it for me.

Has anyone noticed any additional consequences of this issue other than clicking? Any jitter on the steering wheel, brakes or anything else that would be gone upon resolving the low speed noises?

I haven't experience any of these issues so far. But I'll report back in after I take the car to the track to see if it feels any different.

Today I took my bmw to the workshop. I put the car in the elevator and unscrewed the n5 bolt. I let the wheel go down a little and cleaned the area that the bolt hugs with wd-40.
I screw the bolt again and so far the click disappeared! I did it on two wheels.
let's see how long it stays that way
