Not sure what sense exactly....other drivers are able to see the turn signal at the mirrors height easier which adds safety, it is also very visible from the rear, you just can't sea it from in the car.
I prefer it in the mirror, which also makes mods like this much easier.

You don't need to remove and re-install the black bases. Once you have removed the chrome pieces, you can install the black piece to the base already on the car. You can then put the removed chrome piece on to the base that you never installed. That way you still have the compete piece together for safe keeping. Saves a step and less chance of damage to the fender.

I did this yesterday, I didn't separate the chrome from the black base. I used the tool at the rear tab first, pressing the tab with the tool. Then worked forward.

This DIY was key for me doing this, because I had an e90 before, and I never bothered because it was such a pita. This was 15 minutes!

I installed mine the other night.

I first used a small flathead screwdriver (i.e. jewelers) to lift up the back edge of the chrome piece. Once I had a big enough gap I inserted a plastic pry tool and then popped it it out of the first clip. Then I worked my way towards the front of the car with the pry tool.

Put another piece of masking tape over the chrome piece so you don't mar the chrome/plastic piece when using the flathead screwdriver.

This is great! Has anyone found a video showing the finer details of this procedure with the pry tools? I want to see really clearly where the tabs are.

I'd like to go this route if possible. Does this mean you were able to access the tabs of the black base behind the fender, I'm guessing by reaching in through the wheel well?

The logo not only can be removed, but peels off by itself

Hi!!!! I need advice! I ordered a pair of these in carbon fiber...but they don't have the m3 emblem! All of the carbon fiber replacements online have a slot where the gloss black sticker/ emblem that would say m3 or m4 should go....where do I acquire a pair of these stickers?!?!

I started to peel the sticker off but quickly realized they will not be able to transferred because they will lose their sticking power.

Or if I can't find the stickers then I will return them to the company but who manufactures sets that actually have the m3 emblem??!?!!?

What should I do?

Thanks!

Heads up. It comes standard mail from Brazil and takes 5-6 weeks.

I paid him extra $40 to ship EMS which takes a week.

Anyone having issues removing the black plastic base that holds the chrome side markers? Mine seemed like they didn't want to come off

As some have stated, you can leave the base on and just transfer the black piece onto the existing base. It'll save you a step.

so i installed mine fine, but in the process one of the stock clips broke and fell into the fender. any way to get it out ? any way to pull back just the rear part of the front fender liner ? i see some plastic screws/clips holding it in but not sure how these are held in.
