Depends on your goal. If it's a keeper/long term ownership, I'd for sure consider it assuming everything checks out. For sure not 0 risk, but that is a hell of a lot of car for the money. I think if you can get it for low 70s, including new replacement battery, I think it looks much better than some of the cars FS.

IMO: A car is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it much like a company stock. Using this analogy, the cars right now that are currently listed for 70-90k are examples that have a strong motive to to be sold, there's a STRONG motive to sell and dealers need to turn a profit. The private cars ALSO have a strong motive to sell, which is keeping the prices ridicoulsly low (70k-80k)
However, the majority of F82 M4 GTS owners like my self would NEVER sell the car less than MRSP, I don't have a motive to sell, I understand how special the car is, any GTS listed for 75-80k is a bargain and I dont think we will see these LOW prices in the future. However, I plan on taking my GTS to the grave along side with my collection or pass it on to my future generation if prices stay this low so it doenst matter to me at the end of the day. IMO I think the US and Canadian GTS market will follow the European GTS market where we are seeing equivalent examples for $200,000.00 in Europe (keep in mind some NA Spec GTS cars were shipped to Europe. Quick story, I recall looking at 997.1 GT3 RS for 75k-80k around 2011, I thought these cars were too much then, NOW they are 250-300k for a well sorted one. I feel the same paroblioc rythm starting on the M4 GTS. What's my thesis based on? A local BMW dealer just offered me $108,000.00 and told me these cars are on the way up. Pic below of the trade in value for a brand new X5 I was looking at (X5 had a 10k discount) by the way. They wanted to capitalize on the future potential value on the F82 M4 GTS. By the way I didn’t expect the dealer trade value of $108,000.00 (They were also wanting to BUY the car without the trade and write me a check for $108,000.00. The dealer also made it clear to me The GTS would go into their storage and keep it listed for $175,000.00. They know my car and replaced the water injection valve block with the updated version. I just ordered a new X5 without the trade. Hope this gives some potential M4 GTS owners some perspective of the potential upside value on the F82 M4 GTS. Pritgillmotorcar haven't you listed your car for sale more then any other GTS owner? Its certainly a cool car but your actions simply don't align with your forecast of the market or sentiment to "take it to the grave".

Euro market speaks for it self, I think NA market may follow The euro market, these are just my opinions based on real numbers of actual sales in Europe currently. Like I said my car is worth 200k in Europe all day long (based on actual real sales and current listings). If you can still buy them for 70-80 in the US do it, however it won’t be my car. People not using this car is very much missing out! She's definitely not a museum piece (after an awesome Sunday drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway):

Set out looking for either white or black. I would have been completely happy with the acid orange wheels as they really pop against the black paint, but I'm also very happy with the carbon wheels. Very unique feature and gives the car some extra exclusivity. They don't photograph great though, as they're way more 3D in person.

Sadly other than low production numbers and this being the most hardcore BMW America ever got there isn't much more specialness to it. It's a turbo car and not NA, it's also not manual. Enthusiasts right now and in the future want NA manual cars to collect because those are not being made any more. Plenty of auto turbo cars exist and that's why the M4 GTS is priced where it is. In the end its still a BMW and not a Porsche as well. |

Cool GTS post on IG
100,000 likes + and less than 800 cars worldwide - prices headed north at some point Last edited by IB M; 12-01-2024 at 10:52 AM.. |

A picture of bmws station wagon has 11x as many likes. The GTS is a awesome car that anyone shoudl be proud to own but the owner sentiment of the pricing reminds me a lot of people who invest their life savings into NFT's.

@CalActual - Most of us here are biased for sure LOL.
I don’t care about price future from an investment point rather as a public service opinion - if you want one of these now is a good time to buy - especially a clean example. Sort of like it is too late to buy an E36 Lightweight - I could have had a perfect one for $50k not that long ago but now I’m not paying $150k. We can debate if the GTS will be the same - only time will tell. Last edited by IB M; 12-01-2024 at 09:40 PM.. |
