Something's not right. Maybe the bumper needs to be lower or something. Doesn't look wide enough either.

If that's the case then the current test cars would also have a hood bulge, which they don't. At this point, any power dome that makes its way to the final car would have to be purely decorative.

I will like the M3 more than the M6. The rear-end of the 3-series is much better looking than that of the 6-series. Also another part is weight. A good sports car is reflected by its power/weight ratio. The M6 is more like a Grand Tourismo car. If I have the money to chose between the M6 and M3, it will be the M3 without any thought.

Aren't there rumors about the coupe being more aggressive looking and the sedan looking more "tame". I like a sleeper look with awesome performance

I'm seriously doubting BMW considering these renditions. Think back when the E92 M3 was released - it smashed the E90, and for the following 5 years the E90 community aspired to make their cars look like an M3.
At this juncture the F80 artist depictions aren't appearing to be leaps and bounds over its baby sister (F30). |

one of the nicest design features on the current m3 is the wing side mirrors. i was very happy it was included with the 1m coupe. I hope they make wing side mirrors for the new m3.

The PROBLEM is that the renders are GOOD and probably quite accurate of what's to come.
I6... Tri-turbos... Sedate styling... I tell ya... This is motivating me to go for the final year 2013 E92 while supplies last. .

Looks good but not aggressive enough.
The side view mirrors should be like the e92 M3's. There needs to be a little more rear flare. It's a great mock-up overall but it's just lacking something that makes it "aggressive" looking like an M3 should be... can't put my finger on it... |

Looks good to me. I seen a few F30s pass by me this this and I think the front end is nice but really needs M-sport. Also, am I the only one that think from the rear 3/4 it looks sort of boring/lazy? I really think it needs M-sport. Interior is win though.

IMO a four door car in this price range should have at least a v8, and even though it will add the needed torque I still like my v8! It's not like people buying a $65k+ car is worried about fuel efficiency either haha

Those renders don't show as much wheel flare like the spy shots do. I think it will have a more aggressive (wide body look) then those renders do. Everything else I like to be more discrete as it is.

If they are calling the M versions with different model delinations, does it seem to reason that perhaps it will not look at all like the F30? Meaning perhaps it shares the same platform, but is there a chance that the body is quite different? What else would be driving the different model definitions?

The fundamental shape and aesthetic of the car is not likely to change from the F30. Spyshots essentially confirm this already. So don't expect changes to the greenhouse, passenger cabin, beltline or wheelbase. I strongly suspect that the headlights and taillights will also be the same as those found on the F30 as well. Doors and decklid too probably, although either could potentially be made from carbon fiber for the M3 instead. |

I know what it needs.... the new M3 should have a similar roof line to the new M6. That would make the roof look sportier. Also the side gills should have a different design then the previous generation. Never has BMW made a similar gill to the previous model of M3 or M5 or M6. All have been a different styling. I would like to see something similar to the 1M, only with actual opening to make it look like a functioning gill and maybe a tad curved following the wheel arch. I do love the Vorsteiner look of the front bumper though. Very unique and aggressive. Lol I should just design my own BMW... and then drop in a S85 or S70/2 and call it an M10. I can only dream.

That said, you can expect the "4 series" and "M4" to share quite a bit with the 6 and M6 aesthetically. And as I said above, you will even be able to have them with four doors if you want. |

Hmmm, next time Jason or someone interviews an M manager ,we should try to confirm the exact reasons for the different model designation, I would not think that choice of materials would drive such a difference, rather a difference in size/platform such as in the past with the e65/e66 7ers to differentiate the longer wheelbase... but you never know.
