I totally forgot about the HPFP fiasco in the E9x's. If these new M's have a whisper of that drama it's gonna be game over.

Bought my NA V8 and loving it I prefer NA engines rather than FI.
Looks on M4 is very modern though.

Couldn't vote. I don't dislike it or love it.

Plus I need to see performance figures and how well it can handle track days.

Everything sounds and looks great with the new M3/M4, but it won't be my next car. Maybe the M6 GC

Turbo's suck. Trust me... I have two of them

I had a 135. Great car, but after several 'reduced power' warnings, I traded it in for an e90 M3. Best car I've ever owned. Take care of it, and it will give you no problems. Unlike the 135 I had... The M4 looks silly. The recent shots of the M3 look nice, but what's under the hood concerns me. I've had an e36,46, and 90. They've given me no trouble. Not sure I feel this generation will be as flawless. Usually, I'm an early adopter. But here, I'm sitting on the fence.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy the growl of my e90, which doesn't require me turning the volume up on the stereo, just flooring the accelerator. Call me old fashioned.

I thought the new M4 was supposed to look more 'upmarket'.

Yet, that front bumper design looks exactly like the 1M.

I've owned E46, E63 M6 and E93 M3.

I quite like the new M4 but the bonnet shut lines are awful and, while I'm reserving judgement until I drive one, I'm apprehensive about the move from naturally aspirated engines.

BMW uses every technique in the book to get deposits put down without revealing the details that would cause otherwise

I think the concept is very neat looking but without knowing all the details I can't judge the book by its concept cover

If this car moves upmarket in price without the performance expected people will be moving to Porsche jaguar and Maserati and I'm sure the new mb e 63 et al

Hey Carlos Danger, you say you're new to Bimmerpost and you want to say hi. Well, you just insulted a number of forum members whom you don't know and you keep doing it.

Your sig also says you're a doctor. Hey, hi, I'm a doctor too, and err... I think my mind is okay.

The E92 M3 was/is my dream car. Felt like paying off my house and then, paying off my car when I bought it ('cause I don't like debt). I was so happy the E92 generation extended into MY 2013, because then I could order my dream car from the factory, built just the way I wanted it.

Why would I hate on the new M3/M4? I want to add it to my garage!

I'm pretty certain the new M3/M4 are going to be TERRIFIC.

I prefer buying my cars after their mid-cycle refresh (if possible), so why not drive in my favorite car until the new M3/M4 has been around for a few years, the initial bugs have been ironed out and it has been further tweaked and improved upon? Seems like a win-win to me.

I love the look, I'm getting black so it hides the hood line, and its going to be awesome. I can't wait! I know it will be better than my current ride.

It's highly likely that I will purchase an M4 someday, but for now I think my E92 M3 is a keeper. For me, it's really about the NA V8 at least seeming to be more reliable than a FI engine. I previously had an N54 engine and I loved it, but never felt like I could trust it long term.

The M4 kills the M3. Same way the E92 kills the E46. The only reason someone would say otherwise is because they can't afford it or haven't gotten used to the looks. This is not even up for debate. My E92 M3 is really modified exactly how I want it, and it's nowhere near the M4.

I also like to drive the newest thing.

i would say the e92 is getting outdated to BMW, not to most people though. Its still a "nice" car.

M4 is also ways away tell you actually see them on the road.

You're starting to sound delirious

Keep in mind the F80/F82 has to live up to the benchmark set by the E9X ///M's and that "has yet" to be proven.

We aren't haters we just know the ///M recipe has been significantly watered down to accommodate the masses.

By the way how is your F10 M5

I am excited about the M4. I think I like the coupe more than the sedan despite the goofy name. hope to keep the E90 and add on the M4.

What I am worried about this car though is

Heat Soak issues
HPFP
oil cooling
brake fade

all on track. continuous lapping. I think this car should be able to handle a weekend at the track driven properly bone stock.

They should have given the new M4 the twin turbo v8!!! I mean come on! Who cares about MPG. Just give us the god dam twin turbo v8!

I'm staying put in my proudly purchased 2013 E92 until we REALLY see what the M4 can do in a couple years.

Ignore him. He does the same in every post he participates in. Classic troll, and not at all in tune with the friendly, helpful vibe the Bimmerpost forums are known for.

The M4 looks a bit big for my taste. I am more interested in the M3 as four doors suit a car of that size better. Perfect scenario for me when I move back to the states will be an M3 for a DD and 997 GT3 for weekend/track car.
