JB4 Hesitation
So I had the dealer change the plugs. 5k miles later I'm getting sputtering doing wot from 4k rpm. Map 1 has a slight sputter and map 0 runs smooth. Today I got misfire cylinder #1 and #2 for the first time on map 2. I don't know what to do since map 1 and 2 isn't useable anymore.
Plugs have 5k miles on it. Should I change coils? Car has 39k miles. I have short logs when the sputtering occurs. It happens right after I floor it then 5 secs later it pulls.

How long should the plugs last if gapped properly?

Plugs. Spark getting blown out.
Take them out and look at them to see if any have a larger then normal space, but gap them down to .18

I don't disagree that a flash tune is the only proper way to tune, but ignorant blanket statements like yours are just dumb. It's safe to say the JB4 is not junk - results based threads here and other forums confirm that. Try not to let the anonymity of the internet allow you to post stupidity.

Could be plugs. You posted photo of the logs so I can't open them in the JB4 interface to check your settings and other data. Normally you'd post the CSV log files.

Yes. I wasn't trying to be a jerk off with my posts last night. I learned my lesson with the N54. Why put a device on a 70-90k car that makes it run inconsistent and shitty half the time. I ended up going Cobb Protune on that platform. Car was a beast. OP I recommend doing the same here.

I'm running JB4 for 2 yrs without any problems. With E30/E50/E85 or meth is the best buy and the fastest on the 1/4 mile.
I have now the stage ecu tuning and running jb4. This combo is the best. Win-win situation.

Love my JB4.
Have never had any problems with it over the last 1 1/2 years and various mods/setups on my car.

JB4: Great for making high boost
Flash: Great for everything else Remember, the JB4 is more so used as a boost controller since it cannot change any of the mapping of the car. Because our cars are "smarter" then normal cars, the JB4 works well with it since the car understand and makes the appropriate changes. The JB4 isn't "junk" but I cannot say it is problem free. Personally, I ran much more consistent at the track and at the dragway with a flash tune (VF)...fastest run with JB4 was 11.8, fastest run with hex was 11.1...and yes, exact same setup for both runs. Can go into the differences I felt going down the track, but this isn't the time or place for it, PM me if you want to hear it. Take it for what it's worth though. I also felt that the car was searching for the correct boost with the JB4, whereas with flash it just knew to boost to 26psi. Again, a flashing advantage. But...this is why the highest powered cars run both. JB4 handles boost, flash takes care of everything else so that the car responds to the added boost even better. Everything that I stated has been said in 10000xxxx other posts lol
