Rear Camera Always On Code Not working

Hi All.

I did some searching and couldn't really find anything helpful. In order to get the rear Camera to remain on the following are supposed to be coded.

D_SCHWELLE_2 = max distance in meters to disable rear camera view - Change to Werte = FF
V_SCHWELLE_2 = max speed to disable rear camera view - Change to Werte = FF

I have no problem in changing the Werte = FF however when I save and go back in it shows "UNKNOWN" in the line right above. The drop down on that line gives the options of WERT_01, WERT_02, WERT_03.

Any idea how to get this to work? I was able to do the same thing with the top camera (D_Schwelle_1/V_SCHWELLE_1) no problem...although they say unknown also they stay on.

Thanks for the help

..not working for me either...

The SideView cameras work no problem, but I am unable to get the RearView Camera (or Top Down Cameras) to come on when I hit the button once I start rolling.

BTW - I think you want the D_SCHwelle... (Distance) Options set to "0" to prevent the camera's from turning off after 255 meters. I have tried both ("00" and "FF") with no difference in behavior. The PDC cameras (RV and TD) simply wont turn on when the car is moving.

So, I am curious as well, as to why this is not working...

Here's the 4 things I coded and both side and top/rear can be turned on at any speed. Of course the one downside is after every time you go into reverse you have to manually shut the top/rear camera off by pushing the button.

Yup - Those are exactly what I coded but the RV/TV cameras won't turn on once moving (although SV does). I also did this on my M6 and it works as you describe (you have to turn it off manually once you back up).

I'll revisit this when I go back to tweak some other stuff...

Not really a big deal - its just curious that its not working on my car...

Thanks for your input!

Yeah I'm still having problems. I went in and checked all the settings and even re-coded. I agree it's not a big deal but it's driving me nuts! I'd rather have the rear view at any speed vs the sides.

I know of local MY16 M3 that behaves the same way. No matter how many times the values are coded, it simply won't stick.

Reading the module shows the programmed values are there, but the cameras will not remain on while driving. All other features work fine on other modules. Possibly getting the NBT software updated would permit the change to stick.

Same here on my MY15 M3.
RV/TV turns on when you first drive off, but if you turn it off, it wont come back. SV turns ON on demand at any time.

We must be missing another configuration setting somewhere else...
